Shakey's Super League
The Shakey's Super League (SSL) is a women's volleyball league in the Philippines. The league is organized by Shakey's Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. (SPAVI) and the Athletic Events and Sports Management Group Inc. (ACES). History The Shakey's Super League was formally launched on August 16, 2022, at the Shakey's Pizza ASEANA outlet in Parañaque City. This marks the return of Shakey's Pizza in Philippine volleyball since they served as the title sponsor for the Shakey's V-League (now Premier Volleyball League) from 2004 to 2017. The inaugural season was the Collegiate Pre-Season Tournament composed of teams from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) held from September 22 to November 28, 2022, in Metro Manila. 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Tournament
The 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship was the inaugural tournament of Shakey's Super League. The tournament was held on September 24 to November 19, 2022, at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila. It features 18 collegiate teams from the two most prominent collegiate athletics associations in the country — NCAA and UAAP. NU Lady Bulldogs defeated De La Salle Lady Spikers (3–0) in the championship match and crowned as the inaugural champions of the tournament. De La Salle Lady Spikers settled for silver. Adamson Lady Falcons won the bronze after a hard-fought 5 sets against UST Golden Tigresses in the 3rd place match. Participating teams Pool composition The teams are grouped via casting lots. San Sebastian College – Recoletos (SSC-R), commonly known by its nickname Bastê, is a private Catholic coeducational basic and higher education institution run by the Order of Augustinian Recollects in Manila, Metro Manila Philippines. It is one of the six schools owned and operated by the Order of Augustinian Recollects in the Philippines. It was founded by the Augustinian Recollects in March 1941. SSC-R, situated in the heart of Manila, in F. R. Hidalgo Street, Quiapo, was named after Roman centurion turned martyr Saint Sebastian. The College had a humble beginning.
