Shahryar, ( ja, シャフリヤール, link=no, foaled 13 April 2018) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. He won his only start as a juvenile in 2020 and made rapid improvement in the following spring as he ran third in the Tokinominoru Kinen before taking the Mainichi Hai and Tokyo Yushun. Background Shahryar is a dark bay or brown horse with a white star and white socks on his hind legs bred in Japan by Northern Farm. Al Ain, ( ja, アルアイン, link=no, foaled 1 May 2014) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. After winning two minor races in the autumn of 2016 he made significant improvement in the following spring to take the Mainichi Hai and the Satsuki Sho. Later that year he finished fifth in the Tokyo Yushun and second in the St Lite Kinen. As a four-year-old in 2018 he failed to win in six starts but ran well in several major races, finishing third in the Osaka Hai and the Mile Championship and fourth in the autumn edition of the Tenno Sho. Mutafaweq (foaled 21 February 1996 in Kentucky) is a Thoroughbred racehorse who raced successfully in England, Germany, and Canada. Background Mutafaweq was a bay horse with no white markings bred in Kentucky by Muirfield Ventures & Jayeff B Stables. He was sired by Silver Hawk, an American-bred colt who finished third in the 1982 Epsom Derby and later became a successful breeding stallion, siring the 1997 Epsom Derby winner Benny the Dip. Mutafaweq's dam The Caretaker was a successful racehorse who won several races including the valuable Cartier Million in 1989. Palace Malice (foaled May 2, 2010) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 2013 Belmont Stakes. After winning one minor race as a two-year-old he made steady improvement in the early part of 2013, being placed in the Risen Star Stakes and Blue Grass Stakes and running prominently in the Kentucky Derby before winning the Belmont Stakes, and the 2014 Metropolitan Handicap. The Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint is a 7-furlong (1408 m) Weight for Age stakes race for thoroughbred fillies and mares three years old and up. As its name implies, it is a part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships, the ''de facto'' year-end championship for North American thoroughbred racing, generally held in the United States (also held one time in Canada). The race is run on a dirt course (either natural dirt or a synthetic surface such as Polytrack). Saxon Warrior (foaled 26 January 2015) is a Japanese-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse.
