Shahen (Sassanian General)
Shahen or Shahin (Middle Persian: ''Shāhēn Vahūmanzādagān'', in Greek sources: ; died ca. 626) was a senior Sasanian general (''spahbed'') during the reign of Khosrow II (590–628). He was a member of the House of Spandiyadh. Biography Shahin is first mentioned in 602, after the outbreak of the Byzantine–Sasanian War of 602–628, where he commanded the forces invading Byzantine territory in the Transcaucasia, winning a battle against Domentziolus near Theodosiopolis in 607/8. Following the expulsion of Roman forces from that region, in 611 Shahin led an advance into Anatolia, capturing Caesarea. There, Phocas' son-in-law Priscus, started a year-long siege to trap them inside the city. However, Shahin's troops escaped Priscus' blockade and burned Caesarea, much to Heraclius' displeasure. In 613 the Roman offensive pressed on into Syria, but the combined Persian armies under Shahin and Shahrbaraz crushingly defeated Heraclius near Antioch. After this victory the Persians l ... Shahen Gevorki Khachatryan (born September 28, 1934, Aleppo) is an Armenian art expert. He is the founding director of the Arshile Gorky Museum in Etchmiadzin. Biography In 1946, his family moved to Soviet Armenia. Khachatrian finished the Repin Institute of Arts. Shahen Nikolay Petrosyan (17 February 1912 – March 14, 1999) was a lawyer, doctor of law, professor, honored lawyer of the Armenian SSR, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Armenia, Dean of the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University, Head of Department of the History of the State and Law. Biography Shahen Petrosyan was born on February 17, 1912, in the village of Ddmashen, in the Sevan region. Ddmashen village is one of the oldest villages in Armenia, as evidenced by the presences of the 7th century Church (building), Church of St. Tadevos (the link from the wiki). Upon graduation from high school, Petrosyan continued his studies in Yerevan and in 1933entered the Yerevan State University Department of Law, graduating in 1937. Yenovk Shahen
Yenovk Shahen ( hy, Ենովք Շահէն; 3 February 1881 – 28 May 1915) was an ethnic Armenians, Armenian actor and director who lived in the Ottoman Empire. He was killed during the Armenian genocide. Life Yenovk Shahen Yepranosian was born to an Armenian family in the village of Bardizag (Bahcecik) near İzmit on 3 February 1881. He was the brother of Krikor Ankut, an arithmetician who was also deported during the Armenian Genocide but managed to survive. After receiving his early education in Bardizag, he and his family moved to Constantinople. While in Constantinople, it is noted that Shahen's interest in theatre grew after reading the biography of renowned Armenian playwright Bedros Adamian. He immediately began to play short roles for various plays. Shahen joined a theatrical group led by Mardiros Mnagyan.
