Shaheed Bhulu Stadium (Bangla:শহীদ ভুলু স্টেডিয়াম) is the district stadium of Noakhali, Bangladesh. The Stadium is situated near ''College Gate'' in Noakhali municipality. Stadium is used for national parade, professional and district level football and cricket leagues. It has become a venue of first class and list A cricket since 2000. This is the 15th venue used for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches. Noakhali ( bn, নোয়াখালী, , New canal), historically known as Bhulua ( bn, ভুলুয়া), is a district in southeastern Bangladesh, located in the Chittagong Division. It was established as district in 1821, and officially named Noakhali in 1868. Its headquarters lie in the town of Maijdee, making Noakhali the only district of Bangladesh that isn't named after its town name. Etymology and names The name of Noakhali District comes from the town of Noakhali (নোয়াখালী), which was the former headquarters of the old district. It is a compound of two words; ''Noa'' (meaning new in Noakhailla) and ''Khali'' (a diminutive of ''khal'' meaning canal). NoFel Sporting Club ( bn, নোফেল স্পোর্টিং ক্লাব) is a football team of Bangladesh, based on Noakhali. The current name NoFeL is an acronym for Noakhali Feni & Lakhsmipur. The club competes in the Bangladesh Championship League, the second tier of Bangladesh football. Nofel played in the Bangladesh Premier League, country's top tier association football league, for first time in 2018-2019 season after being runners-up of 2017 Bangladesh Championship League. However, they suffered relegation in the same season. 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League (football)
The 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League (also known as TVS Bangladesh Premier League for sponsorship reason) is the 11th season of the Bangladesh Premier League since its establishment in 2007. A total of 13 football clubs will compete in the league. Dhaka Abahani are the defending champions. Bashundhara Kings and NoFeL Sporting Club entered as the promoted teams from the 2017 Bangladesh Championship League. The league was delayed and was rescheduled to start from 18 January 2019. Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (Team BJMC) was a sporting club in Bangladesh, which is mainly located in the city of Dhaka. The club was formerly known as East Pakistan IDC prior to 1971 and Bangladesh JIC from 1971 until 1978, from which point onward the club has been renamed to Team BJMC. In 1981 the club had stopped all their football related activities, however, after 29 years, in 2010 they restarted playing professional football under the new manager Arif Khan Joy. The National Football Championship is a semi-professional association football tournament in Bangladesh, contested by districts and government institutions of the country. During the seasons ranging from 2000 to 2006, the wide-open national cup tournament was played by club champions from different districts (Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barishal and Syhlet) along with the top three teams of each season from the country's top division at the time, the Dhaka Premier Division League (Dhaka League).
