Shahbudin Rahimtoola
Shahbudin Rahimtoola was a cardiologist based in Los Angeles, United States. He served as Distinguished Professor at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Rahimtoola was credited for his contribution to two clinical syndromes namely the hibernating myocardium and 'prosthetic valve-mismatch'. Early life and education Rahimtoola was born in October 1931 to an illustrious family of Bombay. He obtained his initial education from St. Xavier's School and followed it up with entry to medical college in Bombay. Upon partition of the subcontinent in 1947 his family shifted to Pakistan and he continued his studies from Karachi. Rahimtoola graduated MBBS from Dow Medical College in 1954. Hoosenally Rahimtoola
Hoosenally Rahimtoola was a Legislator of the Bombay Presidency. He remained Mayor of Bombay from 1934–35 and was Minister in the Provincial Government briefly in 1937. Rahimtoola was also President of the Bombay Legislative Council during 1936. Early life and education Hoosenally M. Rahimtoola was born in May 1890 to a merchant trading family who were well established politically in Bombay. Being the first male grandchild in the family he was brought up by his elder uncle Mohammadbhoy Rahimtoola. Hoosenally achieved his secondary education from St. Xavier's High School, Bombay. Shamsuddin Rahimtoola (3 October 1936 – 26 October 2016) was a Physician based out of Karachi whose area of study included Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Rahimtoola remained the 10th Principal of Dow Medical College Karachi in 1984. He was also Medical Superintendent of the Civil Hospital in Karachi. The Dow University encompasses the Professor Shamsuddin Rahimtoola Digital Library named in his honor. Early life and education Shamsuddin Rahimtoola was born on 3 October 1936 in Poona. The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) is a medical royal college in Scotland. It is one of three organisations that sets the specialty training standards for physicians in the United Kingdom. It was established by Royal charter in 1681. The college claims to have 12,000 fellows and members worldwide.
