Shafali Verma
Shafali Verma (born 28 January 2004) is an Indian cricketer who plays for the India women's national cricket team. In 2019, at the age of 15, she became the youngest cricketer to play in a Women's Twenty20 International match for India. In June 2021, she became the youngest player, male or female, to represent India in all three formats of international cricket. On 8 October 2022 she became the youngest cricketer to complete 1000 runs in T20 Internationals. Under her captaincy, India won the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup. Early life During her childhood, Verma initially played cricket disguised as a boy due to a lack of girls' cricket academies in Rohtak. 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup
The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup was the seventh ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It was held in Australia between 21 February and 8 March 2020. The final took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on International Women's Day. Hosts Australia won the tournament, beating India by 85 runs, to win their fifth title. It was a standalone tournament, the men's tournament was initially held eight months ahead of the schedule, but would be postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cricket At The 2022 Asian Games ...
Cricket will be one of the 37 sports to be played at the 2022 Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China. Both men's and women's Twenty20 International tournaments will be held. Prior to this edition, cricket was last played at the Asian Games in 2014. The Asian Games were originally planned to take place in September 2022, but were later postponed by one year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The England women's cricket team represents England and Wales in international women's cricket. Since 1998, they have been governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), having been previously governed by the Women's Cricket Association. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The 2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup was the first edition of the ICC Women's Under-19 Cricket World Cup, hosted by South Africa in 2023. The tournament was moved from its original slot at the end of 2021 to January 2023 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sixteen teams competed in the tournament, initially divided into four groups.
