''Superstition'' is the 10th studio album by English rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees, released in 1991. The lead single, " Kiss Them for Me", gave the band its first top 40 ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit in the United States, peaking at No. 23, with the album peaking at No. 65 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. The band widened its musical influences with the arrival of Indian musician Talvin Singh, who played tablas on the songs "Kiss Them for Me" and "Silver Waterfalls". Background and promotion The band wrote the songs in a residential studio in Wales. The album was then recorded with producer Stephen Hague in London at RAK Studios. "Fear (of the Unknown)" is a U.S.-only single written and recorded by English rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees and produced by Stephen Hague. It was released in late 1991 as the second U.S. single from the band's 10th studio album, ''Superstition''. It didn't get any domestic release in the UK and was the only Siouxsie and the Banshees single not to be issued in their home country. The track, in its original form, was an uptempo dance-oriented number with heavy percussion work by Banshees drummer Budgie. For its release as a single, "Fear (of the Unknown)" was drastically remixed by Junior Vasquez to accentuate its 4/4 rhythm and give it a house music feel. A 12-inch was released with several remixes. Susan Janet Ballion (born 27 May 1957), known professionally as Siouxsie Sioux, is an English singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. She was the lead singer of the rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees (1976–1996). They released 11 studio albums, and had several UK Top 20 singles including " Hong Kong Garden", "Happy House" and " Peek-a-Boo", plus a US ''Billboard'' Top 25 hit, " Kiss Them for Me".
