Shadow Work (album)
''Shadow Work'' is the second solo album by American heavy metal vocalist Warrel Dane from Nevermore and Sanctuary, released on October 26, 2018. Recordings for ''Shadow Work'', the follow-up to 2008's ''Praises to the War Machine'', started in fall 2017 at Orra Meu Studio, São Paulo, but after Dane's death on December 13, 2017, recordings stopped. After reviewing the material that could actually be completed using vocals from various studio and pre-production sessions with Dane, the decision was made to release his final recordings as ''Shadow Work''. Warrel Dane
Warrel Dane (born Warrel George Baker; March 7, 1961 – December 13, 2017) was an American musician who was the lead singer for the heavy metal bands Sanctuary and Nevermore. He was a natural baritone; though he was known for his high-pitched vocals with Serpent's Knight and on the first two Sanctuary albums, later in his career, Dane became more notable for his distinctively deep, dramatic voice. Career Dane was trained for five years as an opera singer and utilized a very broad vocal range, spanning from notes as low as the G below low C, or G1, to notes as high as the B below soprano C, or B5. While his high head voice style vocals were much more prominent in the older Sanctuary albums, there were instances where he utilized it in Nevermore as well. An album cover (also referred to as album art) is the front packaging art of a commercially released studio album or other audio recordings. The Cure are an English Rock music, rock band formed in 1978 in Crawley, Crawley, West Sussex. "The Hanging Garden" is a song by English rock band The Cure (band), the Cure, released as the sole single from their fourth studio album, ''Pornography (album), Pornography''. The release is sometimes referred to as ''A Single''. The single reached No. 34 in the UK Singles Chart. Sanctuary is an American thrash/power metal band, formed in 1985 in Seattle, Washington. They were broken up from 1992 to 2010. The band consists of Lenny Rutledge (guitar), Joseph Michael (vocals), George Hernandez (bass), and Dave Budbill (drums). The lead vocalist position was held by Warrel Dane until his death in 2017. They have released four studio albums and one live EP. Nevermore
Nevermore was an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1991. The band has been inactive since 2011, due to personal issues between the band members. In April 2015, lead singer Warrel Dane confirmed that Nevermore had not disbanded, and there was a possibility for them to continue in the next two years with another album. However, Dane died in December 2017, ending hopes of a reunion. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States.
