Seán Moylan (hurler)
Seán Moylan is an Irish former hurler who played as a left wing-back for the Offaly senior team. Born in Banagher, County Offaly, Moylan first played competitive hurling in his youth. He made his senior debut with Offaly during the 1971-72 National League and immediately became a regular member of the team. During his brief career he experienced little success. At club level Moylan is a two-time Leinster medallist with St Rynagh's. He also won numerous championship medals with the club. His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1973 championship. Moylan’s brothers Pat and Barney also had lengthy career playing for Offaly, Moylan’s son Thomas also had a short spell with Offaly. Banagher
Banagher ( or ''Beannchar na Sionna'') is a town in Ireland, located in the midlands, on the western edge of County Offaly in the province of Leinster, on the banks of the River Shannon. It had a population of 3,000 at the height of its economic growth in the mid-19th century; as of 2016, the population was over 1,700. Banagher was historically an important strategic location on the River Shannon and was one of the few crossing points between the provinces of Leinster and Connacht. It thus became a natural focus for a number of historical buildings, including a 19th-century Martello Tower and a number of castles around the town, which were built in the 14th and 15th centuries. The town used to be the focus of thriving river business and was an important stop on the Dublin to Limerick navigation. 1972–73 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 1972–73 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the third staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 26 November 1972 and ended on 9 December 1973. Blackrock of Cork were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify after being defeated by St. Finbarr's in the opening round of the Cork Championship. On 9 December 1973, Glen Rovers won the championship after a 2-18 to 2-08 defeat of St. Rynagh's in the All-Ireland final. It was their first ever championship title. The 1970–71 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the first season of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier club hurling tournament. Tomás Moylan (born 1969) is an Irish former hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Offaly senior team. Moylan joined the team during the 1993–94 National League and was a member of the team for just one seasons. An All-Ireland winning captain in the minor grade, he failed to win any honours at senior level. Barney Moylan
Barney Moylan (born 1943) is an Irish former hurler who played as a right wing-forward for the Offaly senior hurling team. Moylan made his first appearance for the team during the 1965 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1976 championship. During that time he experienced little success with the team. Moylan was a Leinster runner-up on one occasion in 1969, where he marked Eddie Keher scoreless from play. At club level Moylan was a two-time Leinster medalist with St Rynagh's. In addition to this he has also won nine county club championship medals. Playing career Club Moylan enjoyed much success with St Rynagh's in a club career that spanned two decades. Offaly Senior Hurling Championship
The Offaly Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Molloy Environmental Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Offaly GAA clubs. Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion senior clubs in the province of Leinster in Ireland. It is the most prestigious club competition in Leinster hurling.
