Seymour Morris
Seymour Morris (15 February 1913 – October 1991) was a Welsh international footballer who played as an outside left. He won five full caps for his country and played for Huddersfield Town and Birmingham in the Football League. Biography Morris was born in Ynyshir, Glamorgan. On leaving school he became a miner, and then joined the army, serving in the Welch Regiment. While stationed near Cardiff he played football for Welsh League side Aberaman Athletic, where he was noticed by bigger clubs. He turned professional, signing for Huddersfield Town in 1933. Unable to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Huddersfield, he moved to fellow First Division club Birmingham in March 1935. At Birmingham he was used in his preferred position on the left wing, but still took another eighteen months to supplant Billy Guest as first choice in that spot. Ynyshir
Ynyshir () is a village and community located in the Rhondda Valley, within Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. The name of the village means "long island" in Welsh and takes its name from a farm in the area, falling within the historic parishes of Ystradyfodwg and Llanwynno (Llanwonno). The community of Ynyshir lies between the small adjoining village of Wattstown and the larger town of neighbouring Porth. Ynyshir has its own library, post office, doctor's surgery and a number of shops and other significant amenities, although these represent a fraction of the businesses that once fronted the main road – Ynyshir Road during the village's heyday. Birmingham Airport , formerly ''Birmingham International Airport'', is an international airport located east-southeast of Birmingham city centre, west-northwest of Coventry slightly north of Bickenhill village, in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, England. Crickhowell (; cy, Crucywel , non-standard spelling ') is a town and community in southeastern Powys, Wales, near Abergavenny, and is in the historic county of Brecknockshire. Location The town lies on the River Usk, on the southern edge of the Black Mountains and in the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Significant parts of the surrounding countryside, over , form part of the Glanusk Park estate. Etymology and language The name Crickhowell is an anglicised spelling that corresponds to the Welsh Crucywel. The name is derived from Crug Hywel, meaning 'Hywel's mound'. This is usually identified with the Iron Age hill fort on nearby Table Mountain, although this has the local name of Mynydd y Begwn.
