Seweryn Berson
Seweryn Berson (1858–1917) was a Polish lawyer and composer. Born in Nowy Sącz, early in his youth he moved to Lwów (then in Galicia, currently in Ukraine), where he spent most of his life. A student of Berlin-based conservatory of Heinrich Urban, he composed numerous operettas ( – ''Dance lesson''; 1902), serenades, romances and bagatelles, as well as numerous songs to the lyrics by Heinrich Heine, Henrik Ibsen and Maria Konopnicka. He died March 4, 1917, in Lwów and was buried there. Seweryn Wysłouch (March 19, 1900 in Pirkowicze near Drohiczyn – February 28, 1968 in Wrocław) was a legal historian and vice-rector of Wrocław University. Biography Seweryn was born in Pirkowicze near Drohiczyn (Polesie, Poland), the Wysłouch family manor. In 1927 he graduated from the School of Law and Social Sciences of the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius and began to work there as an academic. His career was interrupted by the outbreak of the Second World War, but he continued it from 1945 at the University of Wrocław as a professor. During the years of 1947 to 1952 he was the vice-rector (vice-chancellor) of the university and from 1956 to 1958 he headed its School of Law Seweryn was equally involved in numerous initiatives outside of the university. Wojciech Seweryn
Wojciech Seweryn (August 31, 1939 – April 10, 2010) was a Polish-born sculptor and longtime resident of the United States. Seweryn was born in Tarnów, graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Tarnów, and studied at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts. He immigrated to Chicago in the mid-1970s. The son of a 16th Infantry Regiment officer killed in the Katyn massacre, he later designed and constructed a memorial commemorating the Katyn massacre in Niles, Illinois; this was inaugurated in 2009. Andrzej Teodor Seweryn (born 25 April 1946) is a Polish actor and director. One of the most successful Polish theatre actors, he starred in over 50 films, mostly in Poland, France and Germany. He is also one of only three non-French actors to be hired by the Paris-based Comédie-Française. He is currently serving as director general of the Polski Theatre in Warsaw. Seweryn Rzewuski (; 13 March 1743 in Podhorce – 11 December 1811 in Vienna) was a Polish nobleman, writer, poet, general of the Royal Army, Field Hetman of the Crown, Voivode of Podolian Voivodeship and one of the leaders of the Targowica Confederation.
