The 17th Texas Legislature met from January 11, 1881, to May 5, 1882, in its regular session and one called session. Anson Frank Rainey (January 11, 1930 – February 19, 2011) was professor emeritus of ancient Near Eastern cultures and Semitic linguistics at Tel Aviv University.
