Sevahir Bayındır
Sevahir Bayındır (* 1 January 1969, Karlıova, Bingöl Province, Turkey) is a Kurdish MP for the Democratic Society Party (DTP) in Şırnak, Eastern Turkey. Bayındır attended high school in Trabzon, going on to study nursing at the Ege University School of Nursing in İzmir. Between 1991 and 1997 she worked as a nurse in Izmir. She was a co-founder of the Democratic People's Party (DEHAP), which she chaired from 1998 to 2002. Since 2002 she has been active in the Rainbow Women's Association. In 1999 she stood as candidate of HADEP in Diyarbakir and in 2002 for DEHAP in Mersin. Both times she was unsuccessful. In July 2007, Bayındır stood as an independent candidate within the DTP supported Thousand Hopes alliance for the Turkish parliamentary elections and was elected to the Turkish Parliament. Karlıova
Karlıova ( ku, Kanîreş) is a town and seat of the Karlıova District in Bingöl Province of Turkey. The mayor is Veysi Bingöl (Justice and Development Party (Turkey), AKP). The town had a population of 9,016 in 2021 and is populated by Kurds. The town is divided into the neighborhoods of Kale, Kanireş, Kanitaht, Seyrantepe, Turgut Özal and Yeşilyurt. 2007 Turkish General Election
General elections were held in Turkey on 22 July 2007 to elect 550 members to the Grand National Assembly. Originally scheduled for November, the elections were brought forward after parliament failed to elect a new president to replace Ahmet Necdet Sezer. The result was a resounding victory for the incumbent Justice and Development Party (AKP), which won 46.6% of the vote and 341 seats. The party's leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was consequently re-elected as Prime Minister of Turkey. The opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) came second with 20.9% of the vote and took 112 seats. The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), which had failed to surpass the 10% election threshold in the 2002 election, re-entered parliament with 14.3% of the vote and 71 MPs.
