Seth Appert
Seth Appert (born August 9, 1974) is an American ice hockey coach and former college ice hockey player. Appert was the head coach of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men's ice hockey team. Appert played collegiate hockey at Ferris State. On August 14, 2020, Appert was named Head Coach of the Rochester Americans, the top AHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. NCAA Division I ice hockey coaching experience In 1999, Appert became an assistant coach at The University of Denver where he worked until the end of the 2005–2006 season. During that period, Appert helped Denver to capture two NCAA national championships, three WCHA playoff championships, two WCHA regular-season titles, and average 23 wins per season. On April 19, 2006, Seth Appert was hired as the head ice hockey coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, replacing Dan Fridgen Daniel J. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Goaltenders tend to stay at or beyond the top of the crease to cut down on the angle of shots. In the modern age of goaltending there are two common styles, butterfly and hybrid (hybrid is a mix of the traditional stand-up style and butterfly technique). Because of the power of shots, the goaltender wears special equipment to protect the body from direct impact.
