Sesvenna Alps
The Sesvenna Alps are a mountain range located in the Alps of eastern Switzerland, northern Italy and western Austria. Geography Sesvenna Alps are considered to be part of the Central Eastern Alps. Their high dolomitic peaks overlook Scuol in the lower Engadine Valley, warranting them the name ''Engadine Dolomites''. The Sesvenna Alps are separated from the Samnaun, Silvretta and Albula Alps in the north-west by the Engadine Valley; from the Livigno Alps in the south-west by the Spöl valley; from the Ortler Alps in the south-south-west by the Ofen Pass and Val Müstair; from the Ötztal Alps in the east by the upper Adige valley and the Reschen Pass. The range is drained by the rivers Inn (the Engadine) and Adige. The highest peak is Piz Sesvenna, closely followed by the high peaks overlooking Scuol: Piz Pisoc, Piz Plavna Dadaint and Piz Lischana. Piz Pisoc
Piz Pisoc is a mountain in the Sesvenna Range of the Alps, overlooking Tarasp in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. With an elevation of 3,173 metres above sea level, it is the highest summit of the Sesvenna Range west of Pass Costainas (2,251 metres) and the second highest summit of the whole range. Ofen Pass
Fuorn Pass or Ofen Pass ( Romansh: ''Pass dal Fuorn'', german: Ofenpass, it, Passo del Forno) (el. 2149 m.) is a high alpine mountain pass in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. The name is based on the ovens that were used in ironworks in the area. The ruins of these ovens can still be seen from nearby trails. It connects Zernez in the Engadin valley with Val Müstair, crossing the Swiss National Park in Switzerland. It was here that a brown bear ''(Ursus arctos)'' was seen and photographed in July 2005 - the first sighting of a wild bear in Switzerland since 1923 In 2004, the biggest Honey fungus spotted in Europe was found near the Pass. Piz Lischana
Piz Lischana is a mountain in the Sesvenna Range of the Alps, overlooking Scuol in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. With an elevation of 3,105 metres above sea level, Piz Lischana is the highest summit of the Sesvenna Range north of the Fuorcla Sesvenna (2,819 metres). The normal route of ascent is from the ''Chamanna Lischana'' a mountain hut operated by the Swiss Alpine Club, to the Fuorcla de Rims (2940 m), a col at the low point between Piz Lischana and Piz San Jon, and then along the South-East ridge of the mountain passing over the intermediate summit at pt. 3044. The route is graded T3+ or T4 in the Swiss Hiking Scale. The final section of this route can also be reached from S-charl via the Fora dal'Aua and via the Val d'Uina, but these routes are longer and involve more ascent. Reschen Pass
Reschen Pass (german: Reschenpass, ; it, Passo di Resia ) is a mountain pass across the main chain of the Alps, connecting the Upper Inn Valley in the northwest with the Vinschgau region in the southeast. Since 1919, the border between South Tyrol, Italy and Tyrol, Austria has approximately followed the watershed, the pass summit at a height of being completely on Italian territory. Geography Location Reschen is one of the principal passes of the Alps, located between Brenner Pass to the east and the Splügen to the west. It is part of the drainage divide between the Danube in the north and the Adige in the south.
