Sergio Vargas (footballer, Born 1965)
Sergio Bernabé Vargas Buscalia (born 17 August 1965 in Chacabuco, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine born Chilean naturalised football manager and former football goalkeeper. He received ten caps for the Chile national team during his career. Vargas retired in 2005. Club career Vargas began his career in Independiente. After three seasons at the club with 98 appearances, he left for Club Sport Emelec of Ecuador. However Vargas left after a season to join Universidad de Chile. Vargas, with other players such as Luis Musrri, Rogelio Delgado, Esteban Valencia, Marcelo Salas and Rodrigo Goldberg, helped Universidad de Chile to win the Primera División de Chile in 1994 and again in 1995. Before 1994, Universidad de Chile last won the championship in 1969. Vargas will continue to win the Copa Chile in 1998 with Universidad de Chile. Rogelio Delgado
Rogelio Wilfrido Delgado Casco (born 12 October 1959) is a retired football central defender from Paraguay. Club career At the club level, Delgado played for Olimpia Asunción, where he won the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup in 1979, and six Paraguayan league titles. He also played for Independiente of Argentina, where he won the 1988–1989 league championship, and for Universidad de Chile, where he won the 1994 Chilean league championship. After retiring as a player, Delgado took up coaching. He came out of retirement to play one game for Colo-Colo in the 1995 edition of the Supercopa. International career Delgado was a member of the Paraguayan squad at the 1979 FIFA World Youth Championship. An own goal, also called a self goal, is where a player performs actions that result in them or their team scoring a goal on themselves, often resulting in a point for the opposing team, such as when a football player kicks a ball into their own net or goal, awarding the other team a point. The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División.
