Sergeant Berry (TV Series)
Sergeant Berry is a fictional American police officer. The first stories published about him were novels written by an author named Robert Arden. In 1938 there was already a German film called ''Sergeant Berry'' starring Hans Albers. After World War II some of the novels about Sergeant Berry were published again. The German TV series of the same name was broadcast in 1974 and 1975 and lasted for 26 episodes. When Klausjürgen Wussow left the series he was replaced by the likewise popular actor and comedian Harald Juhnke. The series was produced by Heinz Willeg and directed by Harald Philipp who had already worked together on the early films about Jerry Cotton Jerry Cotton is the fictional character in a series of pulp magazine-type crime novels. Hans Albers
Hans Philipp August Albers (22 September 1891 – 24 July 1960) was a German actor and singer. He was the biggest male movie star in Germany between 1930 and 1960 and one of the most popular German actors of the twentieth century. Early life Hans Albers was born in Hamburg, the son of a butcher, and grew up in the district of St. Georg. He was seriously interested in acting by his late teens and took acting classes without the knowledge of his parents. In 1915 Albers was drafted to serve in the German Army in World War I, but was wounded early on. After his release from the Hospital in Wiesbaden where he had been treated, he performed in the local Residenztheater in comedies, antics and operettas. After the war Albers moved to Berlin, where he found work as a comedic actor in various Weimar-Era Berlin theatres. Klausjürgen Wussow
Klausjürgen Wussow (30 April 1929 – 19 June 2007) was a German stage, film and television actor. Early life Wussow was born in Cammin, Province of Pomerania, Weimar Germany (modern Kamień Pomorski, Poland). His father was a teacher and cantor who died 1939 in the Second World War. Wussow had three brothers, an older and two younger (twins). His original career choice was to become a doctor. He couldn't become a doctor and so his new career choice was to become an actor. Career Wussow started with the theatre. From 1964 until 1986 he was a member of the famous theatre Burgtheater in Vienna, Austria. Next to his stage work, he appeared in more than 120 film and television productions between 1958 and 2005. Harald Juhnke
Harald Juhnke () (born Harry Heinz Herbert Juhnke, 10 June 1929 – 1 April 2005), was a German actor, comedian, and singer. Life and career Juhnke was born in Berlin-Charlottenburg. His father was a police officer and his mother came from a family of bakers. He grew up in the working-class district of Gesundbrunnen in Berlin. His first stage appearance was in 1948. In 1950, he was hired by the theater in Neustrelitz. In the following years, he worked in several other theaters, including the Volksbühne in Berlin. Juhnke began appearing on German television after 1977. He played in a number of television series and later hosted the ZDF television show ''Musik ist Trumpf''. He often sang on the shows he hosted, in particular emulating Frank Sinatra. Juhnke went on to record several albums between the years 1968 and 1999. Jerry Cotton is the fictional character in a series of pulp magazine-type crime novels. The novels have been written by many different writers in German-speaking countries and in Finland over the course of several decades. Overview The novels center around the adventures of FBI agent Jerry Cotton, which take place in and around New York City. In 1954 the first novel appeared as no. 68: "Ich suchte den Gangster-Chef" (''I Sought the Gang Boss'') in the series "Bastei Kriminalroman". The pseudonym "Jerry Cotton" was developed in 1956 and the first novella with this name on the front page appeared with the title "Ich jagte den Diamanten-Hai" (''I hunted the Diamond Shark''). Peter Thomas (1 December 1925 – 17 May 2020) was a German composer and arranger with an active career of more than 50 years. He was known for his TV and film soundtracks such as '' Raumpatrouille'', the Edgar Wallace movies film series, and the Jerry Cotton film series. Life Thomas was born in Breslau, Silesia.
