Serge Parsani
Serge Parsani (born 28 August 1952 in Gorcy, France) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer, who won one stage in the 1979 Tour de France. Currently, he is the general manager of UCI ProTeam . 1979 Tour de France In the 1979 Tour de France, Parsani was in a breakaway together with Gerrie Knetemann in the 20th stage. At the end of the stage, Knetemann outsprinted Parsani, and Parsani was the second cyclist to cross the finishline. However, Knetemann received a 10-second penalty for being pulled by a car, and so Parsani became the winner of the stage. Gorcy
Gorcy () is a commune, located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle and the Grand Est region, France. This village on the north of the Meurthe-et-Moselle is next to the Belgian frontier, and about 10 km from Longwy, main city of the "Pays-Haut". Its inhabitants are named ''Gorcéens'' and ''Gorcéennes''. History Gorcy was part of the old Barrois province. The village Cussigny was attached to Gorcy in 1810. Steel industry In 1832, Jean Joseph Labbé built a first blast furnace in Gorcy, on the Parivaux. From 1846 to 1848, two new blast furnaces were built. The factory, partially destroyed during the war of 1870, is rebuilt and set in rights. In 1877, the two blast furnaces were removed and replaced by two other more powerful. The Coppa Placci is a semi classic European bicycle race held between Imola, Italy and San Marino. Since 2005, the race has been organised as a 1.HC event on the UCI Europe Tour. The race is named after Antonio Placci, a cyclist born in Imola who died in 1921, two years before the race was created. Because of sponsorship problems, in 2010 the race has been excluded from the UCI Europe Tour and was reserved to the Elite/Under 23 Category. In 2011 the race was held as Giro della Romagna - Coppa Placci and won by Oscar Gatto. The Tour of the Alps is an annual professional cycling stage race in Italy and Austria.
