Serbian Democratic Forum
Serb Democratic Forum ( sh, Srpski demokratski forum, Српски демократски форум) is a non-governmental organization of the Serbs of Croatia, which in cooperation with national and international organizations and institutions, protects human rights, minority rights, develops and promotes inter-ethnic tolerance and understanding and tries to restore mutual trust and respect. Forum is a voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization. It is the first Serb non-governmental organization founded in Croatia in the aftermath of the disintegration of Yugoslavia. Forum has won numerous awards for his work in affirmation of human rights and civil society, most notably the Democracy and Civil Society Award in 1998, awarded by the U.S. and EU for promotion of democratic values. Non-governmental Organization
A non-governmental organization (NGO) or non-governmental organisation (see spelling differences) is an organization that generally is formed independent from government. They are typically nonprofit entities, and many of them are active in humanitarianism or the social sciences; they can also include clubs and associations that provide services to their members and others. Surveys indicate that NGOs have a high degree of public trust, which can make them a useful proxy for the concerns of society and stakeholders. However, NGOs can also be lobby groups for corporations, such as the World Economic Forum. Minority rights are the normal individual rights as applied to members of racial, ethnic, class, religious, linguistic or gender and sexual minorities, and also the collective rights accorded to any minority group. Muurame
Muurame is a municipality of Finland, located south-west of Jyväskylä. Muurame itself is located between two lakes, Lake Päijänne and Lake Muuratjärvi. These two lakes are connected to each other via River Muurame. All together there are 37 lakes in Muurame. Biggest lakes beside Päijänne are Muuratjärvi and Lake Kuusjärvi. River Muurame streams through the population center of Muurame. Muurame was founded in 1921. The Muurame church is of Alvar Aalto's design, being his first church design to be completed in 1929. Zagreb Pride
Zagreb Pride () is the annual LGBTIQ+ pride march in the city of Zagreb, Croatia, which first took place in 2002, as the first successful pride march in Southeast Europe. Zagreb Pride organizers say their work was inspired by the Stonewall Riots and the Gay Liberation Front. It is self-identified as LGBTIQ+ march and therefore in 2003 changed its name from Gay Pride Zagreb into Zagreb Pride. The Pride was organized by volunteer-based and grass-roots Organizing Committee that was formed each year.
