Serbia National Baseball Team
The Serbian national baseball team represents Serbia in international baseball competitions. History The first recorded baseball game in Serbia was played in 1935, during the halftime of a football match between the OFK Beograd, Belgrade Sports Club and Hajduk Split in Belgrade. The first Serbian baseball club was formed in the late 80s as part of the JSD Partizan society, with their first match being in late May 1989 against Varaždin 1181 in Belgrade, the first recorded match there since 1935. BK Partizan played in the second tier of the Yugoslavian baseball league until the breakup of Yugoslavia. With the breakup of Yugoslavia, in order to maintain baseball's continued domestic survival, BK Partizan split into two teams, leading to the formation of BK Kings, based in Košutnjak. European Baseball Championship
The European Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Europe, governed by the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB). History Italy won the inaugural European Baseball Championship in , and the competition has since been dominated by the Italian team and the Dutch team. As of 2010, it is held every other year, in even-numbered years until 2019 and then in odd-numbered years, with a total of 34 European Baseball Championships having been played. Qualification The current European Baseball Championship classification system divides the national teams into three pools, those being A, B, and C. Teams in Pool A are automatically qualified for the next championship. The two best teams in Pool B will also qualify for the next championship. The two best teams in Pool C will promote to Pool B. 2006 European Under-21 Baseball Championship
The 2006 European Under-21 Baseball Championship was an International Baseball Federation, international baseball competition held in the Friuli, Friuli region of Italy from July 9 to 16, 2006. It featured teams from Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Malta, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia and Ukraine. In the end the team from Russia won the tournament. The Lithuania national baseball team is the national baseball team of Lithuania. The team currently competes in the Pool B of the European Baseball Championship.
