Serampore Union Institution is a Bengali medium boys' school in India, accredited as an "A-Grade Excellent Educational Institution" by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for its brilliant and enviable academic performance. The school is blessed by Pundit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. Affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, the institution was founded on January 7, 1884; in 2023, the school is celebrating its 140th anniversary. Serampore Town Railway Station
Shrirampur Railway Station is one of the busiest railway station on the Howrah–Bardhaman main line located in the Hooghly district, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves Serampore city. Hooghly River
The Bhagirathi Hooghly River (Anglicized alternatively spelled ''Hoogli'' or ''Hugli'') or the 'Bhāgirathi-Hooghly', called the Ganga or the Kati-Ganga in mythological texts, is the eastern distributary of the Ganges River in West Bengal, India, rising close to Giria in Murshidabad. The main distributary of the Ganges then flows into Bangladesh as the Padma. Today there is a man-made canal called the Farakka Feeder Canal connecting the Ganges to the Bhagirathi. The river flows through the Rarh region, the lower deltaic districts of West Bengal, and eventually into the Bay of Bengal. The upper riparian zone of the river is called Bhagirathi while the lower riparian zone is called Hooghly. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) came into existence in 1975.
