Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel, also called The Sephardic Temple, is a large, urban Sephardi Jewish synagogue located in Westwood, Los Angeles, California at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Warner Avenue. Established on February 1, 1920 as the "Sephardic Community of Los Angeles," it exists today as the merger of three major Sephardic organizations with approximately 600 member families. Overview and History Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel is a modern synagogue in the Sephardic tradition. It is the largest Sephardic synagogue in California, and one of the largest in the country. The synagogue offers a robust and diverse array of spiritual, cultural and social activities, including daily morning minyan, Shabbat services with hundreds of attendees, Torah classes, a vibrant Men's Club, Sisterhood, Young Professional events, and more. Wilshire Boulevard is a prominent boulevard in the Los Angeles area of Southern California, extending from Ocean Avenue in the city of Santa Monica east to Grand Avenue in the Financial District of downtown Los Angeles. One of the principal east-west arterial roads of Los Angeles, it is also one of the major city streets through the city of Beverly Hills.
