Sergio Renán
Sergio Renán (30 January 1933 – 13 June 2015) was an Argentine actor, film director, and screenwriter. Biography Born Samuel Kohan in Buenos Aires in 1933, his parents were Jewish immigrants who had lived in one of the numerous Jewish agricultural colonies in Entre Ríos Province. Renán became an accomplished violinist in his teens and, following a minor film role in Mario Soffici's 1951 drama ''Pasó en mi barrio'' (''It Happened in My Neighborhood''), he joined the theatre as an actor and continued to appear in supporting roles in Argentine cinema. His directorial debut came on the stage in 1970 with his production of Jean Genet's ''The Maids''. Following a number of prominent film roles for directors Leopoldo Torre Nilsson and Manuel Antín, Renán's film script for Mario Benedetti's novel, ''The Truce'', was produced in 1974. Jorge Goldenberg Hachero (b. 1941) is a prolific screenwriter from Argentina. Jorge Goldenberg was born in San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1941. He studied film direction at the Film Institute of the National University of the Litoral in Santa Fe. He directed the documentaries ''Reportaje a un vagón'' (1963), ''Oficio'' (1966), co-directed the documentary ''Hachero nomás'' (1966) with Patricio Coll, Hugo Bonomo and Luis Zanger, and co-directed the documentary ''Regreso a Fortín Olmos'' (2008) with Patricio Coll. Goldenberg has written several plays that have been staged in Argentina, other countries of Latin America and Europe, including ''Relevo 1923'', ''Fifty-fifty'', ''Poniendo la casa en orden'', ''Knepp, Cartas a Moreno'', ''Krinsky'', ''La lista completa'' and ''Fotos de Infancias''. Crime Film
Crime films, in the broadest sense, is a film genre inspired by and analogous to the crime fiction literary genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and its detection. Stylistically, the genre may overlap and combine with many other genres, such as drama or gangster film, but also include comedy, and, in turn, is divided into many sub-genres, such as mystery, suspense or noir. Screenwriter and scholar Eric R. Williams identified crime film as one of eleven super-genres in his Screenwriters Taxonomy, claiming that all feature-length narrative films can be classified by these super-genres. Pepe Soriano
José Carlos "Pepe" Soriano (born September 25, 1929) is a prominent Argentine actor, director, and playwright. Early life Soriano was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Enrolling at the prestigious University of Buenos Aires Law School, he entered one of the university's numerous theatre groups and, leaving law school to devote himself to the theatre, he produced his first work, ''El chaleco encantado'' ("The Enchanted Sweater") in 1950, among four other works he completed and staged while in school. Soriano debuted professionally in a production of '' A Midsummernight's Dream'' at the renowned Colón Theatre, in 1953. Ulises Dumont (April 7, 1937 – November 29, 2008) was a prolific Argentine film actor, credited with over 80 appearances in film and countless others in theatre and television from 1964 until his death in 2008. Life and work Born in 1937 in Buenos Aires, Dumont first worked in Bunge y Born, Argentina's largest grain wholesaler and one of the principal grain conglomerates in the World. Later that year (1956), he made his first appearance on the stage, developing an affinity for the art that, for economic reasons, he postponed pursuing for several more years. After a modest career in sales, Dumont was given his first film role, a bit part in a 1964 comedy. Enrique Pinti (7 October 1939 – 27 March 2022) was an Argentine actor and comedian. Life As a humorist, he performed stand-up shows with long monologues on Argentine politics and history, speaking at an extremely fast pace and resorting to a mix of common swearwords and elaborate insults to qualify notorious examples of immorality or corruption. The monologues were interrupted by interspersed musical segments. Though his stance was not impartial or unbiased, Pinti displayed historical knowledge beyond the common traditional themes, so these shows were arguably an alternative source of learning about Argentina's past and present troubles.
