Sengkang Sports Centre
Sengkang Sports Centre (; ms, Pusat Sukan dan Rekreasi Sengkang; ta, விளையாட்டு மற்றும் பொழுதுபோக்கு மையம்), formerly known as Sengkang Sports and Recreation Centre, is a sports complex in Anchorvale of Sengkang New Town, Singapore, near Farmway LRT station. It was scheduled to open in end 2007, but its inauguration was delayed until mid-late 2008. History Sengkang Sports Centre was built as part of a plan to improve amenities in Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency and Sengkang New Town, costing S$1 billion. The People's Association and the then Singapore Sports Council were involved in the planning of the sports complex, and went ahead with the project despite Singapore's economic recession in the early 2000s. Anchorvale is a neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town in Singapore between Sungei Punggol and Compassvale. House numbers of its public apartment blocks begin with the number '3' (3xx). Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency
The Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north eastern region of Singapore. The constituency encompasses the majority of Ang Mo Kio (Teck Ghee, Cheng San-Seletar, portions of Yio Chu Kang), Seletar Hills, the northern half of Serangoon North, a portion of northern Hougang and a portion of Fernvale. The western portion consists of parts of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, while in the northeastern corner, it borders the Straits of Johor with two reclaimed islands, Pulau Punggol Barat and Pulau Punggol Timor. A football pitch (also known as soccer field) is the playing surface for the game of association football. Water Slides
A water slide (also referred to as a flume, or water chute) is a type of Playground slide, slide designed for warm-weather or indoor recreational use at water parks. Water slides differ in their riding method and therefore size. Some slides require riders to sit directly on the slide, or on a raft or tube designed to be used with the slide. Sungei Punggol
Sungei Punggol (Malay for Punggol River; Chinese: 榜鵝河; Pinyin: Bǎng'é Hé) is a river located within the North-East Region in Singapore. Geography Other than Punggol New Town, the river flows through 7 other towns in the late 1990s and early 2000s, much of the river banks along Sungei Punggol have since been reclaimed and the river canalised. Since 2011, it is now part of the Punggol Reservoir. In addition, Kampong Tongkang Pecah was along Sungei Punggol as well. Developments To better serve the recreational needs of the residents of Sengkang New Town, a network of green connectors have been built along the banks of Sungei Punggol.
