Seneschalstown GAA
Seneschalstown GAA is a small rural Gaelic Athletic Association club from Beauparc/Kentstown parish in County Meath, founded in 1932. The club ground is situated about 6 miles east of Navan and 3 miles south of Slane. The club has a history in all levels of GAA football over the years and more recently with both its Senior Men and Ladies' teams. It has enjoyed much success in all competitions and has been fortunate to have many players represent the county teams with distinction. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Meath Junior Football Championship
The Meath Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by lower-tier Meath GAA clubs. The winner of this championship will be promoted to the Intermediate division. The winner also represents Meath in the Leinster Junior Club Football Championship. The 2021 Meath Junior Football Championship was won by St Vincent's, who defeated Dunsany in the final 1-4 to 0-6. Competition format Up until 1971, the Junior 'A' winners played against the Junior 'B' winners in the Junior Championship final, even though the teams involved in the final had played in different grades of football throughout the season. From 2020 onwards, club reserve teams were not permitted to take part in the Junior Football Championship. Navan O'Mahonys GAA
Navan O'Mahony's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes in Meath competitions. With 20 Senior Football wins they are the most successful football club in Meath. The club has also won 2 Senior Hurling Championships placing them in the top 15 most successful hurling sides in the county. History The idea of forming a new Gaelic football club in Navan was first mooted during a late evening discussion at the house of the late Peter Hughes, Rathaldron, Navan, with co-founders, the late Eddie Duignan and Jack Callaghan spearheading the move. Joe Sheridan (Gaelic Footballer)
Joe Sheridan is an Irish Gaelic footballer. He plays with the Seneschalstown club and the Meath county team. He was part of the Meath team that made it to the 2002 All-Ireland Minor Championship Final but lost out to Derry. He made headlines for scoring a controversial and illegal late goal in the 2010 Leinster Senior Football Championship Final. The goal stood and Meath got a 1-12 to 1-10 win over Louth. He won Meath Senior Football Championship medals in 2007 and 2009 with Seneschalstown. In March 2012, Sheridan quit the Meath panel due to work commitments in Boston. A month later it was announced that Sheridan was returning to the Meath panel in time for the championship 2012. Meath manager Mick O'Dowd axed him at the end of 2013. Graham Geraghty
Graham Geraghty (born 17 May 1973), is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Meath county team. While still an inter-county player, he stood for the Fine Gael political party at the 2007 Irish general election; he was not elected. Playing career Geraghty represented his country against Australia in the International Rules Series in 1999, 2000 and 2006. Geraghty has also won an All-Ireland Minor Football Championship in 1990 and an All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship in 1993. He has been named as the Meath Player of the Year on two occasions in 1999 and more recently in 2006. Geraghty won the Martin Donnelly Cup on four occasions with Leinster. At club level, Graham won the Meath Senior Football Championship with Seneschalstown in 1994. He has also won the Meath Under-21 Championship with Seneschalstown in 1992. Colm Coyle
Colm Coyle (born 26 February 1963), is a former Gaelic footballer and former manager from County Meath, Ireland. He was manager of the senior Meath county team from September 2006 to July 2008, having previously played for the county. Playing career Coyle won a Leinster Minor Football Championship medal with Meath in 1980. He made his senior debut for Meath in the 1981/82 National League. He enjoyed much success play inter-county football in the eighty's & ninety's on the Meath teams managed by Sean Boylan. He was part of the Meath team which won the Leinster Championship in 1986, Meath's first since 1970. Coyle then emigrated to America thus being unavailable for Meath's successful Leinster championship defense in 1987. Leinster Ladies' Senior Club Football Championship
The Leinster Ladies' senior football club championship has been running since 1978. The trophy is named after the man who presented it, Bill Daly, a Cavanman who lived in Dublin and was involved with Ballyboden St Endas. Kilmacud Crokes are the current holders having secured their first ever title in November 2022 and represented Leinster in the All Ireland series. Foxrock-Cabinteely are the only club to win six consecutive Leinster senior titles. Laois are the most successful county, having won it on 14 occasions. Meath Intermediate Football Championship
Meath Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association second-tier competition between Gaelic football clubs organised by Meath GAA. The winning club is promoted to the Meath Senior Football Championship. In the 2021 final, Trim defeated Oldcastle. Each year, the final takes place in Pairc Tailteann, Navan. The winning club competes in the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. The current (2021) champions are Trim. The 2009 Meath Senior Football Championship was the 117th edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 16 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. Navan O'Mahonys were the defending champions after they defeated Summerhillin the previous years final. St. Ultan's were promoted after claiming the 2008 Meath Intermediate Football Championship title, their first ever year in the senior grade. On 26 September 2009, Seneschalstown claimed their 4th Senior Championship title when they defeated Wolfe Tones 2-8 to 1-8 after a replay.
