Senad Merdanović
Senad Merdanović (born 7 August 1961 in Kakanj, SFR Yugoslavia) is a retired Bosnian professional footballer. He was a member of the FK Sarajevo squad that won the Yugoslav First League The Yugoslav First Federal Football League ( Serbian: Прва савезна лига у фудбалу / ''Prva savezna liga u fudbalu'', hr, Prva savezna liga u nogometu, sl, Prva zvezna nogometna liga, mk, Прва сојузна лига, ... in 1985. In August 2006 he was named the Director of football of FK Sarajevo, a position he held until 2010. Personal life His brother Nijaz Merdanović was also a notable member of FK Sarajevo, and later club chairman. Kakanj
Kakanj ( sr-cyrl, Какањ) is a town and municipality located in Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, the town has a population of 11,796 inhabitants, with 38,937 inhabitants in the municipality. It is situated in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, north of Visoko and southeast of Zenica. It was built along the slopes of wide hills on either side of the Zgošća river. History Neolithic artifacts have been found in Obre, a nearby village. Thus, whole culture that covered central Bosnian river basins was named Kakanj culture. Settlements in the region are very ancient. They are claimed to be historical landmarks of the early Bosnian state. Kraljeva Sutjeska, a Franciscan monastery, is of particular historical note. FPR Yugoslavia
The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, commonly referred to as SFR Yugoslavia or simply as Yugoslavia, was a country in Central and Southeast Europe. It emerged in 1945, following World War II, and lasted until 1992, with the breakup of Yugoslavia occurring as a consequence of the Yugoslav Wars. Nijaz Merdanović
Nijaz Merdanović (born 15 January 1957) is a Bosnian retired professional footballer and current marketing director of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Playing career At the time considered one of Yugoslavia's biggest footballing talents, Merdanić debuted for Sarajevo at the age of 16, becoming the youngest player in the history of the club to appear in a senior league game. A chronic knee injury that resulted in three separate operations would end his playing career at the age of only 27. Administrative career After retiring from football, Merdanić was named as Sarajevo's General Secretary, and would eventually go on to become the 33rd President of the club Assembly, staying on that position from September 2005 until June 2010. He is the current marketing director of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
