Semyon Strugachyov
Semyon Mikhailovich Strugachyov (russian: Семён Миха́йлович Стругачёв; born December 10, 1957) is a Soviet and Russian film and stage actor, People's Artist of Russia (2008). Biography Semyon Strugachyov was born on December 10, 1957 in the village of Smidovich, Smidovichsky District, Jewish Autonomous Region. Father Misha Strugashvili is half Georgian, half Mountain Jew. In 1979, he graduated from the acting department of the Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute of Arts in Vladivostok. He also worked in the Primorsky Regional Drama Theater (Vladivostok), Gorky Academic Theater, Kuibyshev Drama Theater. In 1988 he started acting at the Saint Petersburg Lensoviet Theatre. He made his debut in cinema in 1991. All-Russian fame to Strugachyov was brought by Aleksandr Rogozhkin’s comedy ''Peculiarities of the National Hunt'' (1995). Smidovich (russian: Смидович; yi, סמידאוויטש) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) and the administrative center of Smidovichsky District of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Russia. Population: History It is an early Jewish settlement, which was founded in 1928 named after Pyotr Smidovich who, along with Mikhail Kalinin, came up with the idea to found the Jewish Autonomous Oblast. Climate Like most of the Amur Basin, Smidovich has an extreme humid continental climate (Köppen ''Dwb''), featuring very warm and rainy summers contrasting with frigid and very dry winters. A remake of the 1967 film of the same name, it has a humorous plot revolving around bride kidnapping, an old tradition that used to exist in certain regions of the North Caucasus. Dedicated to the memory of Ilya Oleynikov, the film premiered on August 21, 2014. As was the case with the original, filming was done in the Crimea, not in the North Caucasus.
