''Semic Comics'' is one of the leading comic book publishers in France, also known as Semic S.A. Along with French comics, formerly the company published the official translations of products produced by DC Comics and Marvel Comics. Today, Semic publishes translations from others American publishers Avatar Press, Dark Horse Comics, Image Comics, and Top Cow Productions, among others. History Editions Lug In 1950, writer/editor Marcel Navarro and Auguste Vistel founded Editions Lug. At first, the company only reprinted old French and Italian comics. But soon, Navarro decided that his company needed some original characters. He enlisted a number of French and Italian studios to create new series. "Murder Mysteries" is a fantasy short story by Neil Gaiman first published in the 1992 anthology ''Midnight Graffiti'' and later collected in his collections ''Angels and Visitations'' and ''Smoke and Mirrors''. Plot The narrator, a young Englishman, visits Los Angeles for the first time, and has an upsetting encounter with an ex-girlfriend, Tink, and her child, that ends ambiguously. Rattled from the meeting, he sits on a park bench next to a man claiming to be the angel Raguel, once the very first detective, who was called upon to solve a mystery in the Silver City— another angel has been murdered and he has to find the killer, who ultimately turns out to have been the Creator himself, through influencing another angel. ''CrossGen Chronicles'' was an American comic book published by CrossGen Entertainment from June 2000 to July 2002. Each issue told a story from one of the different worlds in the Sigilverse, usually a historical narrative of some aspect. The Creech
''The Creech'' is an American three issue Sci-Fi/Horror comic book series published by Image Comics in 1997, followed by a subsequent three issue series in 2001. The series was created by Greg Capullo. The title character is an in vitro created life form that was made from hundreds of aborted fetuses by Dr. Pashu Battu, an engineer at The Agency. When Battu realizes The Agency intends to exploit The Creech as force for destruction, he sabotages the project and the creature is let loose on the city. ''Concrete'' is a comic book series created and written by Paul Chadwick and published by Dark Horse Comics. The character's first appearance is ''Dark Horse Presents'' #1 (July 1986). The eponymous central character is a normal man whose brain was transplanted into a large, stone body by aliens, and who lives an extraordinary life on Earth following his escape. The ''Concrete'' series focuses on realism. Apart from the aliens (which appear only in original series issue #3, in Concrete's recounting of his origin) and Concrete's own high-tech, artificial, stone body (which includes a host of attendant abilities), there are no supernatural or science-fiction elements to any stories.
