Ali Selmi is a football manager from Tunisia. In the 1998 FIFA World Cup finals, he took charge of the Tunisia national football team for their final group match, after original manager Henryk Kasperczak was fired after two losses and saw the team eliminated from contention. Tunisia played Romania to a 1-1 draw in that match. Selmi himself was fired shortly thereafter. Ali El Selmi
Ali El Selmi ( ar, علي السلمي; born 3 December 1936) is an Egyptian liberal academic and politician who served as a deputy prime minister from July to December 2011 in the interim government in Egypt. Career Selmi is a professor of economics and a senior member of the liberal Wafd Party. As of 2012 he was also deputy head of the party. Selmi served as the minister of administrative development. He was appointed deputy prime minister for political affairs in the interim government headed by Prime Minister Essam Sharaf on 16 July 2011. Francesco Selmi (7 April 1817 – 13 August 1881) was an Italian chemist and patriot, one of the founders of colloid chemistry. Selmi was born in Vignola, then part of the Duchy of Modena and Reggio. He became head of a chemistry laboratory in Modena in 1840, and a professor of chemical pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Bologna in 1867. Mohamed Salmi (born 1963) is a retired Algerian long-distance runner specializing in the marathon. He finished 59th in the 1992 Olympic marathon. He also competed at the 1991 World Championships and the 1993 World Championships but failed to finish the race on both occasions.
