Joe Seliga
Joe Seliga (11 April 1911 – 18 December 2005) was a master builder of wood-and-canvas canoes in Ely, Minnesota. Joe Seliga was born to Steve and Anna (Vasko) Seliga in Ely, Minnesota and graduated from Ely Memorial High School. Seliga was inspired by the Morris canoes, which were built by B.N. Morris Canoe Company of Veazie, Maine from 1887 to 1920. As a child, Seliga's family owned two Morris canoes, a 15-foot and an 18-foot. His first experience in canoe construction came when his family's 18-foot canoe was severely damaged, requiring twenty-one new ribs and a new cover. Seliga built his first canoe form and completed his first canoe in 1938, which he immediately sold. Seliga built canoes from before World War II until his death at the age of 94, only stopping from 1942 to 1945, when he was forced to work as a miner. Aleksander Šeliga (born 1 February 1980) is a former Slovenian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Early career Šeliga played most of his career for hometown club Celje in the Slovenian PrvaLiga. With this club, he also participated in the UEFA Cup. In 2005, he joined Slavia Prague, but after an unsuccessful period with the Czech side, he returned to Celje. Sparta Rotterdam In the summer of 2009, Šeliga was tested by two clubs in the Netherlands. The first club, SC Heerenveen, was in desperate need for a keeper. Suliga
Joseph S. Suliga (December 25, 1957 – February 18, 2005) was an American Democratic Party politician, who served in the New Jersey State Senate, where he represented the 22nd Legislative District, until 2004. Suliga did not run for re-election in 2003 after a scandal involving his alleged drunken sexual harassment of a woman in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Instead he resigned and entered rehabilitation for alcoholism and was replaced on the ballot and in the Senate by fellow Linden Democrat Nicholas Scutari. In 2005, Suliga was killed in an automobile accident in the parking lot of a Linden go-go bar. Governor Richard Codey ordered that flags be flown at half-staff in Suliga's honor.
