Selica Torcal
Selica Winiata (born 14 November 1986) is a New Zealand Rugby union player and referee. She plays for the Black Ferns, the New Zealand women's sevens team and provincially for the . Biography In 2013, she was a member of the champion New Zealand women's sevens team at the Rugby World Cup Sevens. Winiata also played at the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was included in New Zealand's squad to play at the 2015 Women's Rugby Super Series. Winiata was named New Zealand Rugby women's player of the year in 2016. She is a Police officer by profession. She was named in the squad for the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. She also featured at the 2019 Women's Rugby Super Series. Winiata signed with the Hurricanes Poua for the inaugural 2022 season of Super Rugby Aupiki. Manawatu Cyclones
The Manawatu Rugby Football Union (MRU) is the governing body of the sport of rugby union in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand. Founded in 1886, Manawatu is one of New Zealand's oldest rugby unions. In 1892, the MRU, amongst other unions, was instrumental in the founding of the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU). In 1997–98 Manawatu entered into an amalgamation with , as the "Central Vikings", and wore orange and blue. The union is based in the city of Palmerston North though its catchment area includes players and clubs from nearby towns in the province, including Ashhurst, Feilding, Rongotea, Linton, Bulls, Pahiatua, Woodville and Dannevirke. 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup
The 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup was the seventh edition of the Women's Rugby World Cup, and the sixth held in Europe. The World Cup Final took place on 17 August. All of the pool games for the World Cup took place at the Centre National du Rugby (CNR) in Marcoussis and Marcoussis Rugby Club with the French union adopting the concept of restricting the tournament to one or two locations as in the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup in London. Marcoussis is about 20 miles south of Paris. The knockout stages of the tournament also saw matches played at the CNR in Marcoussis, with the semi-finals, Bronze Final and Final taking place at Stade Jean-Bouin in the French capital – home of Stade Français. Super Rugby Aupiki is a professional women's rugby union club competition in New Zealand. Its inaugural season was held in March 2022. It is a steppingstone between the Farah Palmer Cup and the Black Ferns. Aupiki translates as ‘''the ascent to the upper most realm''’. Format Initially the four teams were supposed to have three regular season matches with one home and away game, and one Super Round fixture. The top two teams at the end of the three rounds would contest the final. However, the competition was reformatted as a round robin fixture because of the impact of COVID-19. All the squads were strongly affected with player isolations and COVID-19 cases. The inaugural champion would be crowned based on their competition points after the final round.
