Selfish Things
Selfish Things are a Canadian alternative rock band from Toronto, Ontario. They formed in 2016 and on 20 September 2019 released their first full length studio album, '' Logos'', via Pure Noise Records. Their sound has been described as alternative rock combining Simple Plan’s pop punk with Mallory Knox's heavier sounds. History Lead singer Alex Biro started the group in 2015, after parting ways with his old band in Los Angeles and moving back to his parents' basement, where he began working on new music. The other members joined a year later in the summer of 2016. The band's name is a reference to the lyrics of Jimmy Eat World's song "23". "I was deciding whether I still wanted to play music and I heard that line and thought it was beautiful", recalls Biro. On 25 July 2015, Selfish Things released their debut single, "Spooky Action at a Distance". Emma Portner
Emma Portner (born November 26, 1994) is a Canadian professional dancer and choreographer. Early life Portner was born in Ottawa, Ontario and began dancing when she was three years old. She started dancing at a competitive studio in Ottawa before spending her summers with The National Ballet of Canada. While in Ottawa, she also attended Canterbury High School's specialized arts program in her dance stream. When she was 17, she moved from Ottawa, Ontario to New York City to train at The Ailey School. She dropped out after 5 months to begin her professional career. Spencer Chamberlain (born January 4, 1983) is an American musician, best known for being the current lead vocalist for the metalcore band Underoath. Before fronting Underoath, Chamberlain was the vocalist for the band This Runs Through in which his brother, Phil Chamberlain, was the drummer (who is also the drummer for To Speak of Wolves). Underoath
Underoath (stylized as Underøath or UnderOath) is an American rock band from Tampa, Florida. It was founded by lead vocalist Dallas Taylor and guitarist Luke Morton on November 30, 1997, in Ocala, Florida; subsequently, its additional members were from Tampa, including drummer, clean vocalist and last remaining core member Aaron Gillespie. Crown the Empire is an American metalcore band formed in 2010 in Dallas, Texas. They have released one EP and four studio albums. Yellowcard is an American Rock music, rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997 and was based in Los Angeles beginning in 2000. "Marvins Room" is a song by Canadian recording artist Drake. It is the lead single from Drake's second studio album '' Take Care''. Produced by 40, it features keyboard-based instrumentation and muted bass. "Marvins Room" is performed from the point of view of an inebriated Drake as he calls up an ex-girlfriend and rants about his various frustrations and loneliness.
