"Selfish Love" is a song by English singer-songwriter Jessie Ware. It was written by Ware, Ross Golan, Ryan Tedder, Ammar Malik, Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat and Happy Perez, with production handled by the latter three. The song was released via Island Records on 31 August 2017, as the second single from the singer-songwriter's third studio album, '' Glasshouse'' (2017). Background The song premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show. Ware told Lowe on the show that the song was written during "a frustrating songwriting session" with Benny Blanco in December 2016, and she was starting to worry that she "couldn't write another song now that hewas a mom and hewas tired." Blanco later played a voice note on his phone of an idea he and Ryan Tedder "messed about with last week", it featured Tedder singing the chorus on the acoustic guitar. Jessica Lois Ware (born 15 October 1984) is an English singer, songwriter and broadcaster. Ware came to prominence following the release of her debut studio album, ''Devotion'' (2012), which peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart, produced the single " Wildest Moments", and was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. In 2013, Ware was nominated for the Brit Award for Best New Artist. "Sing It Back" is a song written and performed by Irish-English electronic music duo Moloko (Róisín Murphy and Mark Brydon). It first appeared in its original version on Moloko's second album, ''I Am Not a Doctor'' (1998); it was released as a single on 8 March 1999, reaching number 45 on the UK Singles Chart. The song experienced chart success after it was remixed by DJ Boris Dlugosch, peaking at number four in the UK in September 1999. Murphy had started writing the lyrics while clubbing in New York City, and knew the song was at heart a dance track, but the group wanted to record it in a different artistic fashion for its album version.
