Sel Lisle
Selwyn Sydney Lisle (29 April 1921 – 26 March 1999) was an Australian rugby league player, a first-grade New South Wales Rugby League premiership winning halfback who played in the 1940s who made a number of New South Wales representative appearances. Lisle played for the Eastern Sububs club from 1940–42 and 1944–47. Playing career A halfback, Lisle was a member of Easts' premiership winning sides of the 1940 NSWRFL season. He was the 1941 NSWRFL season's top try scorer with 13 tries and played in the Easts side that finished runner up that year. In 1942, Lisle was a City Firsts Representative. The second world war interrupted his playing career. Lisle enlisted in the Australian Army in 1942, as a gunner. He was discharged in April 1945 and he resumed his playing career at Eastern Suburbs. Rose Bay, New South Wales
Rose Bay is a harbourside, eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Rose Bay is located seven kilometres east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government areas of Waverley Council (east of Old South Head Road) and Municipality of Woollahra (on its western side towards the bay). Clovelly is a small beach-side suburb in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Clovelly is located 8 kilometres south-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Randwick, within the Federal Division of Wentworth. Clovelly is a mainly residential suburb on Clovelly Bay. Clovelly Beach is a small beach that sits on the end of the narrow bay. The bay is popular with swimmers. Great Britain National Rugby League Team
The Great Britain national rugby league team represents Great Britain in rugby league. Administered by the Rugby Football League (RFL), the team is nicknamed The Lions. For most of the 20th century, the Great Britain team toured overseas, played against foreign touring teams and competed in the Rugby League World Cup, which they won three times: in 1954, 1960 and 1972. Since 1995, the RFL has sent separate home nations teams to the World Cup. Great Britain continued to compete as a Test playing nation both home and away. They competed against Australia for the Ashes, and New Zealand for the Baskerville Shield, as well the Tri-Nations series with both Australia and New Zealand. Sydney Roosters
The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. First founded as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (ESDRLFC), it is the only club to have played in each and every season at the elite level, and since the 1970s has often been dubbed the glamour club of the league.
