Seeming
Seeming is a musical act based in Ithaca, New York. Signed to Artoffact Records, they have released three albums since 2014. Seeming is primarily a project of Alex Reed, working with Aaron Fuleki. Both previously played in the band ThouShaltNot. Reed is associate professor of music at Ithaca College, and previously taught at New York University, The University of Florida, and the College of William & Mary. He has also written several books on music including ''Assimilate: A Critical History of Industrial Music''. The Toronto Star describes Seeming's musical style as "cathedral-sized electronic soundscapes consistently whipped to a windblown frenzy," while elsewhere the band is described as "post-anthropocene gothic funk." Lyrical themes explore evolution, the advancement of humanity, challenging restrictive concepts and rules, the ideals of promoting the greater good over oneself, and the adverse effects of capitalism. ThouShaltNot
ThouShaltNot were an American electronic band formed in 1998. Their core lineup consisted of Alex Reed, Aaron Fuleki, and Jeremy Long. The band's musical style blended elements of post-punk, gothic rock, industrial, and synthpop. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, they were signed to Dancing Ferret Discs. The group released four studio albums before disbanding in 2013, with Reed and Fuleki continuing to record music under the name Seeming. Biography The band started as vocalist Alex Reed's solo project, though Aaron Fuleki, whom Reed met as a freshman at The College of Wooster, joined the band in 1999. When ThouShaltNot relocated from Cleveland to Pittsburgh in 2001, Jeremy David Long joined the band. Alex Perialas
Alex Perialas is an American audio engineer, mixer, and record producer, best known for his extensive work during the "golden age" of thrash metal in the mid–1980s to early–1990s. Having worked with many of the genre's top acts, including Overkill, Testament, Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, S.O.D., and Flotsam & Jetsam, Perialas later went on to work with hardcore punk band Bad Religion, groove metal band Pro-Pain and hip–hop/rock band Such A Surge. Sammus
Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo (born March 20, 1986), known as Sammus, often stylized as SΔMMUS, is an American underground rapper, former teacher, and record producer. Early life Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo was born in Rhinebeck, NY to an Ivorian mother and Congolese father. (Patrice Lumumba, former Prime Minister of Congo, was her great uncle.) Her parents, both professors, moved her family to Ithaca, NY at an early age, her mother teaching at Cornell University and her father at Wells College. ''The Big Takeover'' is a bi-annual music magazine published out of New York City since May 1980 by critic Jack Rabid. History Establishment Jack Rabid and Dave Stein began publishing ''The Big Takeover'' in May 1980 as a fanzine dedicated to New York punk band the Stimulators. The pair had formed a garage band the previous month called Even Worse, originally playing mainly punk rock cover songs. Bob Power is an American Grammy Award–winning and multi-platinum record producer, audio engineer, composer, arranger, performer, and music educator. Andrew Gregory Sega ( ; born May 20, 1975), also known as Necros, is an American musician best known for tracking modules in the 1990s demoscene as well as for composing music for several well-known video games. Paul Kendall
Paul Kendall is a composer, producer and visual artist, primarily known as a sound engineer, mixer, mainly through his extensive career at Mute Records and his collaborations with Alan Wilder of Recoil. Career Kendall was born in 1954. In 1973 he went to York University to study maths, dropping out after nine months. While at university he began experimenting with the VCS3 synth and tape manipulation. On his return to London he worked in Barclays Bank for nine and a half years, which allowed him to continue working on music. Haujobb is a German electronic musical project whose output has ranged drastically within the electronic music spectrum, from electro-industrial to Ambient music, ambient and techno. They have become a staple crossover act, bringing several forms of electro into the mainstream industrial music world. History Haujobb was formed in 1993 by Daniel Myer, Dejan Samardzic, and Björn Junemann.
