The Security Intelligence Agency ('' sr, Безбедносно-информативна агенција / Bezbednosno-informativna agencija''; abbr. ''BIA'') is a national intelligence agency of Serbia. The agency is responsible for collecting, reporting and disseminating intelligence, and conducting counter-intelligence in the interest of Serbia's national security. History The Security Intelligence Agency (BIA) was formed on 1 August 2002 as the successor of State Security Service (SDB), which existed from 1991 to 2002. Its function is similar to that of the CIA in the United States or the MI6 in the United Kingdom. 2017–present In May 2017, Bratislav Gašić, former Minister of Defence and close associate of outgoing Prime Minister and newly elected President, Aleksandar Vučić, was appointed as the head of the Security Intelligence Agency. State Security Service (FR Yugoslavia)
The State Security Service ( sr, Ресор државне безбедности, Resor državne bezbednosti; abbr. СДБ / SDB or РДБ / RDB) or simply State Security ( sr, Државна безбедност, Državna bezbednost; abbr. ДБ / DB), was the security agency within the Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia tasked with protecting the country from internal threats. History It was formed in March 1991 after the dissolution of State Security Administration (UDBA). It was dissolved in July 2002 and replaced with Security Information Agency (BIA) on 1 August 2002. Aleksandar Vučić
Aleksandar Vučić ( sr-Cyrl, Александар Вучић, ; born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician serving as the president of Serbia since 2017, and as the president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since 2012. Vučić served as the Prime Minister of Serbia in two terms, from 2014 to 2016 and from 2016 until 2017, as well as the deputy prime minister from 2012 until 2014. Furthermore, he served as a member of the Serbian parliament, Minister of Information from 1998 to 2000, and later as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2013. In April 2017, he was elected president with over 55% of the vote in the first round, thus avoiding a runoff. He formally assumed office on 31 May 2017, succeeding Tomislav Nikolić. Aleksandar Đorđević (attorney)
Aleksandar "Saša" Đorđević or Sale Đorđević (Anglicized: Sasha Djordjevic; sr-Cyrl, Александар Саша Ђорђевић, ; born 26 August 1967) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as a head coach for the senior China. During his playing career, he was listed as a 1.88 m (6'2") 90 kg (198 lb.) point guard. During his pro club playing career, Đorđević, along with his teammate Sasha Danilović, helped to lead Partizan Belgrade to its first EuroLeague title in 1992, while he earned an All-Final Four Team selection in the process. He was twice named the Mister Europa Player of the Year, in both 1994 and 1995. He also played in a total of 108 games, while representing the senior national teams of SFR Yugoslavia, and later FR Yugoslavia.
