Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, (born 15 April 1952) is a Nigerian civil servant and politician who served as Defence Minister of Nigeria. Early life and education Ahmed was born in the town of Shira in southern Azare, Bauchi State, to Ahmadu, an Islamic scholar and farmer. He attended Shira Primary School, Government Secondary School Azare, and then Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, Kaduna State, where he received a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1976 and a master's degree in Public Administration in 1981. Chief Samuel Oluyemisi Falae (born 21 September 1938), is a Nigerian banker, administrator and politician, he was secretary to the military government of Ibrahim Babangida from January 1986 to December 1990, and was briefly the Finance Minister in 1990. Aliyu Mohammed was a Nigerian administrator who was Secretary to the Government of the Federation from 1990 to 1993. He held the title of Waziri Jema'a. Life Mohammed is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, thereafter, he was employed by the Northern regional government.
