Secret Invasion
"Secret Invasion" is a comic book crossover storyline that ran through a self-titled eight-issue limited series and several tie-in books published by Marvel Comics from April through December 2008. The story involves a subversive, long-term invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a group of alien shapeshifters who have secretly replaced many superheroes in the Marvel Universe with impostors over a period of years, prior to the overt invasion. Marvel's promotional tagline for the event was "Who do you trust?". A six-episode television miniseries based on the storyline and produced by Marvel Studios as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is scheduled to be released in 2023 on Disney+. Production and marketing Writer Brian Michael Bendis stated in interviews that the motivation for the invasion is the destruction of the Skrull Empire in the 2007 "Annihilation" storyline. Steve McNiven
Steven McNiven is a Canadian comic book artist. He first gained prominence on CrossGen's ''Meridian'', before moving onto books such as '' Ultimate Secret'', ''Marvel Knights 4'', '' New Avengers'' and ''Civil War''. Early life Steven McNiven is a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Career McNiven first came into prominence after he took over as a penciller of CrossGen's ''Meridian'' title following the departure of Josh Middleton. Later, he gained more fame working for Marvel Comics as the penciller of ''Marvel Knights 4'', '' Ultimate Secret'' and '' New Avengers''. Dark Reign is a 2008 to 2009 comic book branding used by Marvel Comics. It deals with the aftermath of the " Secret Invasion" storyline, which leads to a shift of power in the Marvel Universe toward Norman Osborn. The title refers to Osborn's rise to national power and the ramifications thereof. The Skrull Kill Krew are a fictional group appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They first appeared in their own miniseries published in 1995. They were created by Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and Steve Yeowell. The group are humans modified by eating Skrull-infected beef.
