Alfred Rode (born Alfred Spedaliere; 4 June 1905 – 22 July 1979) was an Italian-born French composer, musician, actor and film director. He was born in Torre del Greco. Paul Amiot (29 March 1886 – 26 January 1979) was a French film actor. His career spanned some 63 years and he appeared in nearly 100 films between 1910 and 1973. In 1920 he appeared in Robert Péguy's ''Être aimé pour soi-même''. He was noted for his consistent roles as a figures of authority. He regularly played police inspectors or detectives, lawyers and physicians. He starred in some 100 films between 1908 and 1930. On his death in 1979 he donated his body to scientific research. Lucas Gridoux (16 April 1896 – 22 April 1952) was a Romanian-born French stage and film actor.Lanzoni p. 99 Biography He was born in 1896 in Herța, at the time in Dorohoi County, Kingdom of Romania. After emigrating to France, Gridoux began his film career in 1931, playing mainly in roles of traitors. In 1935, he was Judas in Julien Duvivier's Golgotha, and then in 1937, Inspector Slimane, a sworn enemy of Jean Gabin in Pépé le Moko, by the same director. He died in 1952 at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, and was buried at the city's Père Lachaise Cemetery. Pierre Renoir (March 21, 1885 – March 11, 1952) was a French stage and film actor. He was the son of the impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and elder brother of the film director Jean Renoir. He is also noted for being the first actor to play Georges Simenon's character Inspector Jules Maigret in ''Night at the Crossroads'', directed by his brother. Life and career Pierre Renoir was born on March 21, 1885, in Paris, at 18 rue Houdon, about a hundred meters from place Pigalle, to painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Aline Charigot. He was married to actress Véra Sergine from 1914 to 1925.
