It has been described as "one of the most perfectly preserved 19th-century downtowns in the ountry with nearly 700 properties in a variety of architectural styles from the early 19th to mid-20th centuries. These include most of Russell Sage College, one of two privately owned urban parks in New York, and two National Historic Landmarks. 	Second Street Historic District (Albemarle, North Carolina) Second Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 12 contributing buildings in the central business district of Albemarle. They were built between about 1898 and 1950 and include notable examples of Early Commercial and Late Gothic Revival style architecture.
