Second Chance (1947 Film)
''Second Chance'' is a 1947 American film noir crime film directed by James Tinling and written by Arnold Belgard. The film stars Kent Taylor, Louise Currie, Dennis Hoey, Larry J. Blake, Ann Doran and John Eldredge. The film was released on July 18, 1947, by 20th Century Fox. Plot Joan Summers (Louise Currie) enters the office of jewel merchant Montclaire (Francis Pierlot) closely followed by Kendal Wolf (Kent Taylor). Each recognizes the other to be a jewel thief, and wordlessly they team together to steal a $30,000 diamond. Searched and questioned when the gem is missed, they are released....with the gem. Detective Sharpe (Larry Blake) is still suspicious and so is the head of Jeweler's Indemnity, who puts two underworld men on to retrieve the diamond. Kendal agrees to meet the two but the police are tipped and Sharpe confiscates the gem and the fence's money. '' 2nd Chance '' is the second studio album by American gospel musician Karen Clark Sheard. It was released on July 30, 2002 on Elektra Records. The release was much ballyhooed for several reasons. Sheard was only the second gospel artist signed to Elektra Records, and this was her debut for the label. It was also her first release since the success of her Grammy-nominated debut ''Finally Karen'', and a long bout with illness had delayed any releases from her since. The album peaked at #2 on the ''Billboard'' Gospel Charts, #3 on the Billboard Contemporary Christian Charts, #27 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Charts, and #82 on the Billboard 200. ''Second Chance'' is the second studio release by Rhode Island-based singer-songwriter Marc Douglas Berardo. The songs are original songs by Berardo with a few exceptions. Berardo collaborated with Michael Branden to write "After the Show"; a song about the various carnival and circus workers that spent the off season in Gibsonton, Florida. The title track "Second Chance" was written Don Ojo Dunaway and released in 1995 by Rich Mountain Music. Long Way home was written by Don Henley and Danny Kortchmar. Just Surrender is an American rock band from Dover Plains, New York, formerly known as A Second Chance,Corey Apar, Just Surrenderat Allmusic formed by three high school friends: Jason "Jay" Maffucci, Andy Meunier and Steve Miller. The vocalist/guitarist Dan Simons, formerly of The Record Collection, joined the original three and it was a four-piece until 2008. ''Second Chance'' is a rock opera conceived by Stéphane Prémont and Frédérick Desroches about high schoolers' not-so-easy lives. The central character, Johnny, sees his life turn sour because of rumors, betrayal and bad communication. The story deals with suicide, anorexia, drugs and teen pregnancy. It is based on his first play entitled ''Holding Out for Hero'', presented in 1994. He started composing the musical version of the show in 2008, and the finished product was ready later that year, in August. The original run started on March 15, 2009. A French production opened in February 2010 at the Quebec City Salle Dina-Belanger. It was the first professional production of the show. Stéphane Prémont recently received the "Personnel Engagé" Prize at the "Forces Avenir" gala presented June 14, 2008 at the Capitole's Cabaret in Quebec City.
