Sebastian Mailat
Sebastian Árpád Mailat (born 12 December 1997) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Liga I club Botoșani. Mailat started out as a senior at his hometown side ACS Poli Timișoara in 2016, and moved to CFR Cluj the following year. He did not impose himself in Cluj-Napoca and was loaned out several times, before signing for Botoșani upon the expiration of his contract in 2022. Internationally, Mailat represented Romania at under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels. Fotbal Club Botoșani (), commonly known as FC Botoșani or simply Botoșani, is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Botoșani, Botoșani County, that competes in the Liga I. In 2013, twelve years after being established, FC Botoșani became the first team from its county to be promoted to the top tier of the Romanian league system. Ciprian Deac
Ciprian Ioan Deac (; born 16 February 1986) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a winger or an attacking midfielder for Liga I club CFR Cluj. After starting out at Unirea Dej, he spent most of his professional career at CFR Cluj, where he won thirteen domestic trophies. With seven of these being national championships, Deac is one of the most decorated players of the competition. He also had loan stints at Oțelul Galați and Rapid București in Romania, while abroad he represented Schalke 04 in Germany and Aktobe and Tobol in Kazakhstan. The Supercupa României ( en, Romanian Supercup) is a Romanian football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994, with the first edition being won by Steaua București. In 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, commonly known as Universitatea Craiova (), CS U Craiova, or simply U Craiova, is a Romanian professional football team based in Craiova, Dolj County, which competes in the Liga I, the top tier of the Romanian league system. 2018 Supercupa României
The 2018 Supercupa României was the 20th edition of the Supercupa României, the annual super cup in Romania. The game was contested by the winners of the previous season's Liga I and Cupa României competitions, CFR Cluj and Universitatea Craiova respectively. It was played at the Ion Oblemenco Stadium in Craiova, on 14 July 2018. CFR Cluj claimed the trophy after defeating Universitatea Craiova 1–0, with Emmanuel Culio scoring the only goal of the game. Before the match, CFR had reached the Supercupa României four times, winning two (2009, 2010) and being runners-up two times (2012, 2016); U Craiova had never took part in the contest. 2017–18 Liga I
The 2017–18 Liga I (also known as Liga 1 Betano for sponsorship reasons) was the 100th season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season began on 14 July 2017 and ended on 2 June 2018, being the third to take place since the play-off/play-out format has been introduced. Defending champions Viitorul Constanța came fourth. CFR Cluj became the new champions in the last fixture of the play-off, clinching their fourth league title after finishing one point above FCSB. Juventus București and Sepsi OSK entered as the promoted teams from the 2016–17 Liga II, but only the latter managed to avoid relegation. Asociația Club Sportiv Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe, commonly known as Sepsi OSK (), Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe (), or simply Sepsi, is a Romanian professional football club based in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna County, that competes in the Liga I. Founded in 2011, it achieved promotion to the top tier in six years by quickly climbing through the Romanian league system. Sepsi thus became the first team from Covasna—a county with a majority of Székely ethnics—to play in the Liga I. Adrian Constantin Alexandru Păun (; born 1 April 1995) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Păun spent most of his professional career at CFR Cluj, for which he made his debut in 2014 and appeared in over 230 Liga I games. In 2022, he moved abroad for the first time by signing for Hapoel Be'er Sheva on an initial loan.
