Sebastian F. Schwarz
Sebastian F. Schwarz (born 1974 in Rostock, East Germany) is a German-born musician, teacher and administrator. He studied vocal performance and musicology in Berlin and Conservatory Benedetto Marcello in Venice，and theatre management at the University of Venice. He worked as a language coach for German, English and Russian productions at Teatro La Fenice and as an artists' manager in Milan and Venice. For several years, he taught history of music and at tertiary level. As of August 10, 2021 Schwarz is Artistic Director of Festival della Valle d'Itria and the Accademia del Belcanto "Rodolfo Celletti" in Martina Franca. In July 2019, the Italian Minister of Culture signed him into office as Sovrintendente (CEO) of the Royal Theatre of Turin, Teatro Regio di Torino of which as of 1 September, he also assumed the role of Artistic Director. Wexford Festival Opera () is an opera festival that takes place in the town of Wexford in south-eastern Ireland during the months of October and November. The festival began in 1951 under Tom Walsh and a group of opera lovers who quickly generated considerable interest by programming unusual and rare works, a typical festival staging three operas. This concept has been maintained over the company's history under the direction of seven different artistic directors. From the beginning, the company embraced new and upcoming young singers, many of whom were Irish, but it also included new international names who made first appearances there. Antonio Cesti
Pietro Marc'Antonio Cesti () (baptism 5 August 162314 October 1669), known today primarily as an Italian composer of the Baroque era, was also a singer (tenor), and organist. He was "the most celebrated Italian musician of his generation". Biography He was born at Arezzo, and studied with various local musicians. In 1637 he joined the Order of Friars Minor, or Franciscans, a Roman Catholic religious group founded by Francis of Assisi. While he was in Volterra he turned more toward secular music, perhaps due to the patronage and influence of the powerful Medici family. Here he also came in contact with Salvator Rosa, who wrote libretti for a number of Cesti's cantatas. By 1650 Cesti's calling as a Franciscan friar and his success as a singer and composer for operas was coming into conflict, and he was officially reprimanded. The Innsbruck Festival of Early Music (German: Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik) is a festival of historically informed performances of music from the late Renaissance, Baroque and early Classical periods which takes place annually in Innsbruck, Austria. It was founded in 1976. Wiener Kammeroper is a chamber opera theatre and company in Vienna, Austria. Founded in 1948 by the conductor , it was originally named Vienna Opera Studiom receiving its present name in 1953.
