Geography Seaview is located in extreme southwest Washington state on the Long Beach Peninsula at (46.334544, -124.05460). Terence O'Donnell
Terence O'Donnell (1924 - 2001) was an American writer. He was born in Portland, Oregon and graduated from the University of Chicago. He resided in Portland most of his life and worked at the Oregon Historical Society. During the latter part of his life, he spent some of his in an apartment on the South Park Blocks in Portland. O'Donnell is perhaps best known as the author of the ''Garden of the Brave in War: Recollections of Iran'', which was published in 1980, during the Iran hostage crisis. The book was praised by critics and, although it did not attain broad popular readership, it is now regarded as a classic work. It is told from a personal perspective, with observations about daily life and culture in southern Iran. Nahcotta, Washington
Nahcotta is an unincorporated community in Pacific County, in the American state of Washington. It is located on Willapa Bay, on the eastern coast of the Long Beach Peninsula, within the Ocean Park CDP. History Nahcotta was first settled in 1890 by J.A. Morehead and named for Nahcati, the chief of a local Chinook tribe. Nahcotta was once the northern terminal of the Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company, a narrow gauge railroad which ran from Ilwaco, and later from Megler, in southwestern Pacific County, up the Long Beach Peninsula to Nahcotta and back, once a day. The railroad was in operation from 1889 to 1930. The community had a small contract post office that opened in 1889 and was maintained by a pair of local residents out of a small building. The post office was closed on February 27, 2021, after a request from the operators for additional funds was denied by the United States Postal Service. The Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company operated a narrow gauge railroad that ran for over forty years from the bar of the Columbia River up the Long Beach Peninsula to Nahcotta, Washington, on Willapa Bay. The line ran entirely in Pacific County, Washington, and had no connection to any outside rail line. Founded in 1890, the city was home to the Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company along the Long Beach Peninsula, with its core economy based on logging and timber rafting.
