The Seattle Ballers were a basketball team based in Seattle, Washington. The team competed in the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), a league created for high school and junior college players as an alternative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). History The JBA was first announced on December 20, 2017, when media personality LaVar Ball said to ''Slam'' magazine that he would create a professional league targeted at high school graduates and fully funded by his sports apparel company Big Baller Brand. The league held tryouts in Seattle in April 2018, initially selecting only four players onto the Seattle Ballers team. Among them was Semaj Booker, who had previously made national headlines as a runaway child at age nine. Junior Basketball Association
The Junior Basketball Association (JBA) was an American basketball league that intended to be an alternative to the NCAA by allowing high school and junior college players to immediately play professionally. The league was first announced in December 2017 by LaVar Ball and was said to be fully funded by Ball's sports apparel company, Big Baller Brand. The JBA existed for just one season in 2018, featuring eight teams from major US cities. While the league has not formally folded, no future seasons have been announced. The JBA faced criticism from within for failing to honor its contracts and pay its players and is widely seen as having been created solely as a platform for LaVar Ball's sons, disregarding the futures and livelihoods of the sixty other players in the competition. UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball
The UCLA Bruins men's basketball program represents the University of California, Los Angeles in the sport of men's basketball as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Jerell Dwayne Springer (born January 19, 1999) is an American basketball player for BC Kavkasia of the Georgia A League. Standing and weighing , he was a top prospect in Nevada at the high school level, attending Shadow Ridge and Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas.
