Seapoint RFC is a community-based Irish rugby club located in Killiney, County Dublin, playing in the Leinster League. The club also provides a key focal point for players attending rugby schools who live in the Cabinteely/Killiney/Ballybrack and greater Dun Laoghaire area. Irish Rugby Football Union
The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) ( ga, Cumann Rugbaí na hÉireann) is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). The IRFU has its head office at 10/12 Lansdowne Road and home ground at Aviva Stadium, where adult men's Irish rugby union international matches are played. In addition, the Union also owns the Ravenhill Stadium in Belfast, Thomond Park in Limerick and a number of grounds in provincial areas that have been rented to clubs. Leinster Rugby
Leinster Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Laighean) is one of the four professional provincial rugby union teams from the island of Ireland and the most successful Irish team domestically. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. Leinster play their home games primarily at the RDS Arena, although larger games are played in the Aviva Stadium when the capacity of the RDS is insufficient. Before moving to the RDS in 2005, Leinster's traditional home ground was Donnybrook Stadium, in Dublin 4. The province plays primarily in blue with white or yellow trim and the team crest features a harp within a rugby ball, the harp being an ancient symbol of the province found in and taken from the flag of Leinster, although the colours are closer to the flag of the President of Ireland or the Coat of arms of Ireland. Killiney
Killiney () is an affluent seaside resort and suburb in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland. It lies south of neighbouring Dalkey, east of Ballybrack and Sallynoggin and north of Shankill. The place grew around the 11th century Killiney Church, and became a popular seaside resort in the 19th century. It is part of the Dáil Éireann constituency of Dún Laoghaire. Amenities Killiney Hill Park was opened in 1887 as Victoria Hill, in honour of Queen Victoria's 50 years on the British throne. The park has views of Dublin Bay, Killiney Bay, Bray Head and the mountain of Great Sugar Loaf (506 m), stretching from the Wicklow Mountains right across to Howth Head. Felix Jones (rugby Union)
Felix Jones (born 5 August 1987) is an Irish rugby union coach and former player. He played primarily as a fullback, but could also play on the wing. In October 2015, Jones was forced to retire from rugby due to a neck injury. He moved into coaching after retiring from playing, and is currently a coach with the South Africa national team. Early life Jones played mini-rugby for Seapoint and continued to play for the club right up to the take-off of his professional career. He was a member of Seapoint's All-Ireland Junior Cup-winning team in 2007. He attended St. Andrew's College in Dublin, where he played for the schools Junior and Senior Cup teams. Michael Noone
Michael Noone (born 16 October 1989) is an Irish rugby union player from County Wicklow, Ireland currently playing for Clontarf Noone is from Greystones, County Wicklow. He was educated at Presentation College, Bray where he played in the final of the Leinster Schools Junior Cup alongside fellow future professional, Jason Harris-Wright. Noone then moved to C.B.C. Monkstown where they reached the semi-finals of the Senior Cup. Noone has captained Leinster at all under age levels. He also led a strong contingent of CBC players on an undefeated tour to South Africa before being selected to the Irish under 19 squad. Following school Noone immediately began playing 1st XV club rugby at Seapoint, where he first played the game. In 2010 he moved to Blackrock College. Noone also represented the Ireland national under-20 rugby union team in the 2009/2010 season. In 2011 Michael Noone played for Doncaster Knights in the RFU Championship. Joe Brady (rugby Union)
Joseph Anthony Brady (born 9 April 1952) is an Irish former rugby union international. Brady, born in Dublin, attended C.B.C. Monkstown and is a product of Killiney-based club Seapoint. While playing with Wanderers, Brady was capped twice for Ireland in the 1976 Five Nations Championship, against England at Twickenham and Scotland at Lansdowne Road. He was also a member of the Ireland squad that toured New Zealand that year, playing tour matches but not in the Test. His appearances with Ireland were as a centre, a position he had recently switched to, having previously played his rugby as a wing or wing-forward. The character first appeared in a January 1998 column in the ''Sunday Tribune'' newspaper and later transferred to ''The Irish Times''.
