Sean Wellman
Sean Wellman (born 20 September 1974) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Wellman was a key position player who arrived at the AFL's Adelaide Football Club from North Adelaide Football Club, North Adelaide. He played 34 games across his first two seasons in 1994 and 1995, before moving to Essendon FC, Essendon in 1996. He became a key defender for the club and was often called "Not a well man" as a play on his surname by commentator Rex Hunt. He played 212 games and kicked 34 goals, playing mainly as a center-half-back. He was a member of Essendon's premiership side in 2000, he played in every game of the season, and was a member of their losing grand final team in 2001. He received All-Australian selection in 1998 and 2001 and International rules representation in 1998. He retired from the AFL at the end of 2004. Rex Hunt
Rex James Hunt (born 7 March 1949) is an Australian television and radio personality, and a former Australian rules football player. He was also a veteran Australian rules football commentator known for his habit of making up quirky nicknames for players. He has also been known around the world for fishing and wildlife programs on the Seven Network and overseas stations. He was a former police officer who reached the senior rank of Sergeant in Victoria Police at age 30. He also previously owned a restaurant, the ''D'lish Fish'' located in Port Melbourne. The 1997 AFL season was the 101st season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. Before the season, the Port Adelaide Football Club (SANFL) was admitted to the league, increasing the South Australian membership to two clubs. Western Bulldogs
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, and based in West Footscray in the old City of Footscray west of Melbourne, the club won nine premierships in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) before gaining admission to the Victorian Football League (which became the AFL in 1990) in 1925.
