Sean O'Sullivan (baseball)
Sean Daniel O'Sullivan (born September 1, 1987) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, and Boston Red Sox and in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) for the Nexen Heroes. Amateur & college career O'Sullivan played baseball for Valhalla High School (El Cajon, California), near San Diego. In 2004, he went 11–1, with his only loss to El Capitan High School (in Lakeside, California) in the finals of the California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section championship. He claimed the East County Californian Pitcher of the Year and Player of the Year awards that season. O'Sullivan played college baseball for the Grossmont College Griffins, near his hometown. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Valhalla High School (El Cajon, California)
Located in Rancho San Diego, Valhalla High School is a public high school operated by the Grossmont Union High School District with an enrollment of 2,112 students. The school is characterized by its school colors, orange and white, going by the nickname ''Orange Nation''. The Salt Lake Bees are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. Texas League
The Texas League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated in the South Central United States since 1902. It is classified as a Double-A league. Despite the league's name, only its five South Division teams are actually based in the state of Texas; the five North Division teams are located in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The league was founded in 1888 and ran through 1892. It was called the Texas Association in 1895, the Texas-Southern League in 1896, and again as the Texas League from 1897 to 1899. It was revived as a Class D league in 1902, moved to Class C in 1904 where it played through 1910 (except for 1906 as Class D again), played at Class B until 1920, and finally moved up to Class A in 1921. The Arkansas Travelers, also known informally as The Travs, are a Minor League Baseball team based in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The Travelers are affiliated with the Seattle Mariners as members of the Texas League. The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. The Orem Owlz were a Minor League Baseball team located in Orem, Utah, United States, from 2001 to 2020. Grossmont College
Grossmont College is a public community college in El Cajon, California. Its name originated with the silent film actor and producer William J. Gross, who was enticed by Ed Fletcher to invest the purchase of land, part of which was called Grossmont. The campus sits in the Fletcher Hills community of El Cajon and is bordered by the cities of San Diego and Santee.
