Seán O'Neill
Seán O'Neill (born 1938, Newry) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club John Mitchel GFC, John Mitchel and was a member of the Down GAA, Down senior inter-county team from the 1950s until the 1960s. O'Neill is one of only four Down players to win three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, All-Ireland titles. Career O'Neill scored 85 goals and over 500 points for Down GAA, Down senior football team in his career, and was a key figure in the county’s All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, All-Ireland victories of 1960, 1961 and 1968. O'Neill's credits include eight Ulster senior football medals and eight Railway Cup medals in 1960, 1963 to 1966, 1968, 1970 and 1971. He began playing table tennis in Virginia at the age of 8 with this fatherPatrick who was a nationally ranked junior player from Toledo, Ohio. O'Neill went on to win every US National Age Championship title, including the Under 11, 13, 15, 17 (5 times), 21, and Over 30 events. In addition to the age events, O'Neill won the US National Men's Singles (5 times), Men's Doubles (5 times), and Mixed Doubles (6 times) Championships. Sean O'Neill (born 15 August 1980 in Limerick) is an Irish rower from St Michael's Rowing Club. O'Neill started rowing while in New Zealand but returned to Ireland in 2008 to try to secure a place in an Irish crew. He competed for Ireland from 2006 to 2008. He returned to New Zealand in 2009 and competed for New Zealand from 2010 to 2012, after which he retired from international competition. Olympics O'Neill competed in the men's coxless four at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for Ireland finishing in tenth place. He competed in the 2012 London Olympics in the men's coxless four for New Zealand finishing eleventh. Sean O'Neill (born 11 April 1988) is a sportsman from Northern Ireland. He currently plays association football for NIFL Premiership club Ballymena United. He has also played inter-county Gaelic football for Antrim. Club career Sean began his career at Glentoran, before moving to Ballymena United in March 2005. He spent 5 years at United, starting as back up to Alan Blayney, and then when Blayney left, O'Neill was first choice although never really established himself in the first team, making a total of 21 appearances during his time there. He signed for Dungannon Swifts in the summer of 2010 as a replacement for Alvin Rouse, and established himself as first choice keeper, playing in 36 of 38 league games. John Joseph O'Neill (born 26 August 1957) is a musician who is the rhythm guitarist and principal songwriter of the punk rock/ new wave band The Undertones. O'Neill, along with his younger brother Vincent and friends Feargal Sharkey, Michael Bradley and Billy Doherty, founded The Undertones in 1975, although Vincent O'Neill was replaced the following year with his younger brother Damian O'Neill, who became the band's lead guitarist.
