Sean O'Connor (producer)
Sean O'Connor (born 11 February 1968 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England) is a British producer, writer and director working in theatre, film, television and radio. He was the editor of the long-running BBC radio drama, ''The Archers'' from 2013 to 2016. He replaced Dominic Treadwell-Collins as the executive producer of ''EastEnders'' in June 2016. It was revealed in June 2017 that O'Connor had left ''EastEnders'' to focus on his career in feature films. Early life and education O'Connor grew up on The Wirral, where he attended a grammar school, St Anselm's College, run by the Christian Brothers. He later earned a degree in English from University College London. Following his graduation, O'Connor successfully applied for a place on ITV's Regional Theatre Young Directors’ Scheme. Birkenhead
Birkenhead (; cy, Penbedw) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England; historically, it was part of Cheshire until 1974. The town is on the Wirral Peninsula, along the south bank of the River Mersey, opposite Liverpool. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 88,818. Birkenhead Priory and the Mersey Ferry were established in the 12th century. In the 19th century, Birkenhead expanded greatly as a consequence of the Industrial Revolution. Birkenhead Park and Hamilton Square were laid out as well as the first street tramway in Britain. The Mersey Railway connected Birkenhead and Liverpool with the world's first tunnel beneath a tidal estuary; the shipbuilding firm Cammell Laird and a seaport were established. In the second half of the 20th century, the town suffered a significant period of decline, with containerisation causing a reduction in port activity. Vanessa Victoria Whitburn OBE (born 1951) is a British radio producer, and a former editor of ''The Archers''. Early life She was born in Totnes in Devon, the daughter of Victor Whitburn and Eileen Wellington. She has a younger brother (born 1954). She failed her 11-plus and her parents sent her to a private convent school in Exeter (which closed in 1997). She graduated from the University of Hull with a BA degree in English and American Studies in 1974. Earlier career She joined the BBC after university in 1974 as a trainee sound technician. Shane Patrick Paul Roche (born 11 March 1964), known as Shane Richie, is a British actor, comedian, television presenter and singer. Eileen Callan (née Day) was a fictional character in the UK soap opera ''Family Affairs'', played by Rosie Rowell from 2002 until the end of the series in 2005.
